As was previously announced, our association was contacted by boatmasters sailing on the Danube in the immediate vicinity of Novi Sad to check with the responsible Serbian authorities whether the fairway conditions and navigation rules were changed after the completion of the new bridge in order to allow the use of these section by convoys that have their size conforming to class VI.
We have, in our capacity as the voice of the IWT industry on the Danube, continuously stayed in touch with the responsible Serbian authorities while having a close look on every available official communication channel. We are therefore happy to announce that our efforts in providing reliable information on the applicable navigation rules finally pay off. According to the Serbian Notice to Skippers 2020/21/0 (see below), the navigation conditions are conforming VIc. As such, the restrictions imposed by the building of the new bridge are no longer in force.
Herewith we would like to thank the sector for the inputs and the Serbian authorities for their supportive co-operation
