5T5M = 5 things of value that take less than 5 minutes to read

Thought:

Leadership is complex. Leaders must learn to live within healthy tension. Because of this, we must live with wisdom, courage, and compassion.
  • Lead with wisdom and courage, but without compassion and you become careless
  • Lead with courage and compassion, but without wisdom and you become reckless
  • Lead with wisdom and compassion, but without courage and you become riskless
  • But lead with wisdom, courage, and compassion, and your leadership is priceless.

I love Venn diagrams so much, I actually have a tattoo of one on my arm.

And did you know the middle football shape in a Venn diagram has a name? That little shape can teach us a lot about how we lead and how we live.

Check this out.

Resource:

One of the primary ways you can show support for an author is to pre-order their book. It tells online retailers that there is growing interest and encourages them to promote the book. I would love it if you would consider pre-ordering my upcoming book, The Sacred Overlap, and when you do I want to give you access to some FREE resources. The book releases on Sept 8th, so you have two weeks to pre-order and get:
  • Free Downloadable Study/Discussion Guide
  • Free Chapter Videos for all 14 Chapters
Pre-order from any online retailer and claim your free bonus resources here: TheSacredOverlap.com

Question:

Last week on social media channels, I asked this question:

Leaders: What do you believe is the one question we should be asking that nobody is asking right now?”

I received dozens of responses. Here are a few of my favorites that leaders posted:
  • What crucial changes can we now make that would have been impossible without this disruption?
  • If it were Groundhog Day and we had to go back to March and do it all again, what would we (individuals, churches, communities, states, countries) do differently?
  • What if we never tried to go back to the way it was?
  • As a generation of learners, what can we do differently to build a stronger foundation of empathy within society?
  • What has [all the disruption] done for our understanding of our identity?
  • Who are the people in the margins, who have always lived in uncertain and confusing circumstances, and what can they teach us right now?

How would you answer that question?
Thanks for reading 5T5M. If you find 5T5M to be beneficial and adding value to your leadership, could you do me a favor and share this email with a friend who might enjoy receiving it? Thanks in advance!
