PaPaS News

PaPaS priority setting project update

The PaPaS team has been making great strides in our prioritisation work, despite the challenges presented by COVID-19. In order to manage our resources effectively, we are primarily focusing on two topics initially: Headache and Migraine, and Palliative and Supportive Care (although we remain open to discussions on all topics within our scope, and will complete formal prioritisation for all areas in due course).

We have formed a Steering Group within the editorial board for each chosen topic, and we are in the process of assessing gaps and priorities in our current portfolio, identifying relevant stakeholders, and searching for existing priority lists from other organisations. We will continue to update our website with our key milestones and output here. If you have any questions, please contact Anna Erskine.

ICTRP records missing from CENTRAL

The World Health Organization (WHO)’s International Clinical Trial Registry Platform (ICTRP) is currently unavailable, therefore trial records from ICTRP are not currently being added to the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL). CENTRAL’s last successful harvest of ICTRP records was on February 5th, 2020.

Cochrane are working with the WHO to restore our ICTRP data feed to CENTRAL as soon as possible. Please see here for further information on how to proceed in the meantime.

New Systematic Review Automation tool freely available

The Institute for Evidence-Based Healthcare has released a new automation tool that may be of use to authors. It’s accessible via the Systematic Review Accelerator (SRA) website.

It’s called The Disputatron and it allows you to upload two EndNote libraries of screened results. It then automatically detects screening disagreements between reviewers made while highlighting which reviewer made which decision (include or exclude). This allows the quick and easy identification of screening disputes, with the added benefit of knowing each screeners decision.

See here for a Help guide.
