AIDE is Remote for Fall 2020 -
Visit us Online!

The on-campus Innovation Lab will be closed in Fall 2020 but the AIDE Team is available in our Virtual Lab (via Webex) Monday-Friday 10:00am-6:30pm and Saturdays 11:00am-3:00pm. The Virtual Lab is closed on Sundays.

Visit us in the Virtual Innovation Lab. We like it when you stop by. Students, faculty and staff are welcome to drop-in to learn more about using ePortfolio, Moodle, Webex and other digital tools.  You can also schedule a one-on-one appointment to work with a member of the AIDE Team. We all have a digital genie inside us. Come find yours.

You can check out our new resources Portfolio now. Bookmark this site! All of our new resources will be added here. We'd love your suggestions and ideas (and volunteers who are willing to share content).  The Moodle Faculty & Staff Resource Center will close on October 1, 2020.

BPL Outdoor Wi-Fi Brings Free Connectivity to Branches!

Do you or your students need wi-fi access? Boston Public Libraries are making free internet access available outside many of their locations. Access the internet up to 325 feet away from the following branches:  Mattapan, Codman Square, Parker Hill, Hyde Park, Grove Hall, Egleston Square, East Boston, Honan-Allston, and South End. Access is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Users must maintain physical distancing.
Spring & Summer Course IPs

If you have students with IPs from Spring who will need access to Spring or Summer courses  send an email to aide@bhcc.edu - subject: Spring/Summer 2020 IP Request.

In your email, please include the name of the student, their student ID number or BHCC email address and the course information (e.g., BIO 108-01). The course will be available to the student until the beginning of Spring 2021, or until you contact AIDE again to let us know that the student is complete and you are ready to have the course closed for that student.

Why not simply add an IP student to an upcoming Moodle section of the same course? Maintaining precise and accurate academic records is complex. Students are receiving a grade for work based on your course policies, procedures and practices in a specific semester of enrollment. Should you or the student need to access proof of completion, or make inquiries regarding their course, and especially if you were unavailable to document and provide confirmation of the specific semester/section/items that the student completed in an alternate section, there can be significant implications for the student.

This is why it is essential to carefully consider all possible options and err towards extending access to the original Moodle course whenever possible.
