“Patience of Job” صبر أيوب

UPDATE

Dear Partners,

As you know, we have been continuing to pray for and pursue the goal of producing “The Patience of Job” صبر أيوب a SHORT FILM in Arabic.  We launched a fundraising campaign in early 2020 and then the pandemic hit and we have been on PAUSE for a time.  We did have some generous donors give to the project and we are happy to say that we have $2,000 to go towards this project.

The screenwriter we were working with has stepped aside for personal reasons.  We have found a new Arabic translator that has recently drafted the opening chapters 1 to 3 and we are excited about this project again as we get feedback on the beginning of the script.  

Pray for us that we can smoothly move the Arabic translation over into a visual screen-writing format!  That is not an easy creative process and we want to do it excellently.

The images you see in this newsletter were created some years ago when we drafted a teaser during our Summer Animation Project, they will likely NOT be the final visuals in the film but we do feel more and more convinced that animation is the right way to go with this important project!

Why NOW?

• The suffering in the Arab world is intense and real!
• Job is a story of many probing questions, current questions about good and evil and why is there suffering?
• This story exposes the tactics of the enemy, Satan, and now more than ever we need to speak these truths openly!  Our battle is not against flesh and blood.
• Muslims and Christians alike are simply not aware of this narrative, they have general ideas about it but don't know the details of this struggle, now is the time to educate audiences about this crucial story from the Bible!
• And finally, in the words of Job 19:25
