Forward Forward
Hello everyone

I hope you and your families are well and keeping each other safe.

Invitation to important Third Sector Summit -
'Creating a new West Lothian'
Monday 7th September 10am-12pm

The purpose of the summit is twofold; to highlight the efforts made by the sector during Covid-19 lockdown and to discuss with elected members, communities and public sector officers, how we can strengthen our partnerships to deliver effective services in the recovery period.

The summit will look to:
  • Promote the value and importance of the sector
  • Showcase the contribution that the sector makes in supporting communities
  • Forge stronger and equal partnerships to support the most vulnerable
  • Identify a collective vision and set of priorities for West Lothian post Covid-19
  • Identify the key pillars needed to build on this work.
Book here by Friday 28 August for this free online event.

We very much look forward to seeing you on the 7th!

Health and Wellbeing/Anti-Poverty Survey – Have your say!

The COVID-19 pandemic has created an unprecedented situation which has affected us all over the past few months, impacting on our families, organisations and the wider community. The Community Planning Partnership (CPP) is looking at how it works closely with communities to both identify the areas of focus and to see how we can work together in new ways to tackle the challenges that lie ahead.

As part of planning for the future officers from Public Health, Anti-Poverty service, Community Regeneration, NHS Lothian, the Health and Social Care Partnership and third sector colleagues have initially identified a number of themes that the evidence suggests will be the key areas. This is very much a work in progress and to take it forward, we need the support and input of the 3rd sector and communities to make sure the evidence we gather and the emerging themes align to the needs of communities.

The potential themes are:
  • Income
  • Employment (and unemployment) and business support
  • Housing and homelessness
  • Longer-term resilience arrangements particularly for third sector
  • Mental health and wellbeing
