Government guidance is that face coverings must be worn in places of worship. Thank you for your cooperation with this. Temperature checks are conducted at the door along with attendance taken for contact tracing if needed.
One-way route
We are asking everyone to make a reservation to attend worship by Thursday at 5 pm either by telephone or an email to the church office churchoffice@emmanuelrockford.org
Entry is via the Park St. doors and exit via the Chapel. We are encouraging cashless donations where possible and also people to use hand sanitizer on entry and exit.
Worship
We continue to celebrate the Eucharist at 10:30 on Sundays. One use service bulletins are available at the back of the church. There is also an alms basin inside the sanctuary to your left.
Please do not gather in the narthex, once you are checked in, make your way into the sanctuary sitting in designated pews only.
Eucharist bread only, please consume it once you have returned to your seat. Also, follow the guidance of six feet distancing while waiting for the host. |

Forest Dwelling Program: Spirituality For Our Wisdom Years
Designed for mature seekers desiring to mindfully embrace challenges and opportunities of aging and diminishment by accessing the deep wisdom embedded in the world’s great mystical and contemplative traditions. Program consists of two 5-day gatherings each year (held virtually – due to current travel concerns and / or in-person at Oblate School of Theology in San Antonio, Texas), directed online study, monthly elder circle group processing, regular spiritual direction and a regular contemplative practice consistent with the person’s primary spiritual tradition. Core faculty members include Fr Ron Rolheiser, OMI; Rev Mary C. Earle, and Marilyn Chandler McEntyre.

New Community 2020 Virtual Conference
October 31, 2020
These are challenging times within our church, our community, and our world. The world has become aware of the “SYSTEMIC INEQUALITIES AND DISPARITIES” that have plagued our society for hundreds of years. Issues surrounding unequal justice practices, a “different” justice system for people of color, and lack of fair opportunities is now a conversation that America is having.
The Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted further “racial inequalities” in our healthcare system and resulted in higher unemployment rates in our communities. Communities of color are generally at a higher risk in their daily jobs (nursing, food packing, farm working and cleaning service industries) and many times without adequate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Additionally, the labelling of the coronavirus as the “China Virus” has legitimized an increase in racism directly affecting immigration policies, DACA, and fear of deportation for many ethnic communities.
