Rosie escaped early Sunday evening, August 23rd, as her owners were heading out with her for a walk. She was recently adopted and the area is still unfamiliar to her.
She was wearing her collar, light blue with pink roses, with matching leash still attached. Her AGA, Petlink, and rabies tags are on her collar.
She bolted towards a wooded area near her home on NW S Young Drive in Killeen - marked with the red indicator in the map below. Fort Hood is also in close proximity and they, as well as several regional shelters and other adoption groups in the area, have been notified. in addition to her leash getting caught on something, we are also concerned about the noise from the base frightening her, as well as, barbed-wire fences in the area. There is also a lake adjacent to the base - seen at the top of the map.
Rosie is still very shy and skittish. if seen, DO NOT CHASE! Coaxing her to you by lying on the ground or with treats are among the recommendations.
