Earlier this year we talked about a major update coming to Ultima Online.  Yes, we've been tight lipped about the details but the time has finally come!  On September 24, 2020, as Ultima Online celebrates its 23rd Anniversary, join us as we share this exciting news with you!  Keep an eye on UO.com next month for full details on how to be part of this momentous occasion!  Long live UO!

    • Randomly delivered as 1 of 4 types of lamp posts that can be turned on and off and functions as a colored light source.

We would like to thank everyone that participated in the soft launch our our Dynamic Treasures events we did on various shards.  Thank you for all the feedback we received so we can make this an enjoyable experience.  For those that are not sure what the soft launch allowed us to do, let me explain.  We have made some changes that allow us to conduct various events without doing a publish.  We are putting the finishing touches on our final dynamic event system, which will allow us to add new quests!  These new systems will form the basis of our fall event calendar beginning with The Black Gate!  You can check out the next installment of our fiction series and some details on The Black Gate below!

It has come to our attention that players are able to place and sell account bound items on vendors and auction safes.  We are aware of the issue and will be fixing this in a coming publish.  At that time account bound items will no longer be able to be placed on vendors or auction safes.

We've got a great new item in the Ultima Store for August - the Anvil of Artifacts!
  • Anvil of Artifacts  -  This item is for the crafter that wants that perfect suit but does not want to spend the time to get exact resists on an item.  With the Anvil of Artifacts you will be able to set resists to the values you want them.

The Black Gate

Silver and Blood

Candlelight flickered across dozens of polished silver triangles. The crowd was mostly Fellowship, with a few outsiders clustered along the edge. The sun had already set over the Serpent’s Spine, and the moon was obscured behind a cloud. It was going to be a dark night, one year after Feridwyn’s death. 

As Iolo made his way through the crowd to the people in his care, he bumped into a man in a Fellowship robe. There was an unexpected clink of chain mail. When Iolo gave a greeting, the man scowled and pushed deeper into the crowd. Iolo examined the gathering and noticed other concealed weapons and armor. Worried, he made his way to Alina, a mother staying at the poorhouse. “I need you to gather the children and tell anyone you trust to get back to the house.”

Alina looked startled and put a hand on her daughter’s shoulder. “Is something wrong?”

“I’ll explain later. I hope it’s nothing. If you see Camille on the docks, can you ask her to help you put the children to bed and then stay for a cup of tea?”

Alina started coaxing her daughter over to others she knew from the poorhouse. “I’ll make sure the old widow’s safe. She’s one of us.” The pair hurried off. 

Iolo walked to the far side of the Fellowship House. There, he removed a board and pulled out a crossbow and quiver he had hidden. He made his way back around the building as Batlin began his speech: 

“Brothers and Sisters! A year ago, our brother, Feridwyn, was murdered. The best of us killed by the chaos that grips this land. We cannot have our worthy reward while chaos tears down everything we build. We can never have unity, when met with constant distrust and violence. 

So now, I ask for your trust as Brother Feridwyn gave us his. Tonight we mourn, not just Feridwyn, but for the necessary deaths that come from what we must do. We can wait no longer. We must protect our way of life. If we do not act, they will destroy us all. Take to the streets! Tonight we take Britain!

For Feridwyn! For the Fellowship!”

As Batlin finished, the crowd roared, and those with weapons drew them. The mass of people converged around Batlin and started moving west across the city. Iolo tried to line up a shot on the cult leader, but too many were in the way. Iolo knew he must be patient, so he chose instead to stop a Fellowship agitator from setting fire to a nearby home. 

Iolo heard shouts and fighting from other parts of the city. Zealots had been in position to strike at critical locations, but luckily the Royal Guard was armed and ready to respond. A force of rangers from Skara Brae cut off the mob at the Virtue’s Pass Bridge. 

An old woman, unarmed and unarmored, ran screaming at the archers like a banshee. 
Iolo recognized her as part of the Fellowship outreach to Cove. Confused, a young archer let loose an arrow that killed her instantly. Other unarmed Fellowship members followed her lead, throwing their lives into the wall of arrows. The rangers eventually gave ground, but the mob was in bloody tatters.   

An alarm bell sounded to the northwest. Not seeing Batlin among the bodies of his pawns, Iolo headed in that direction. On the way, he joined up with a force of city guards, en route to the cemetery. A Fellowship force from the north had made it that far before being spotted. Batlin was in front of their lines, giving orders to the invaders. 

Iolo pulled the trigger on his crossbow, but the bolt missed unnaturally, curving around the cult leader. Iolo ran forward and slammed Batlin to the ground, intent on dragging him back to town. He felt a sharp stab in his back and turned to face Batlin’s enforcer, Elizabeth. The tall woman smirked as she kicked him in the stomach. As Iolo writhed in the dirt, he saw her silver medallion was covered in blood.

Question & Answer

1.   Is there any way we can be allowed to grow Reagents?
Not at this time.  We may be looking at the gardening system in the future.

2.   Are there any new items coming to the Ultima Store?
We add a new item to the Ultima Store each month.  We are also going to be including these items in the newsletter and a short description of what the item is or can do.

3.   Can we access the void areas within a keep similar to what was done with castles?
The team has talked about doing this in the future, we do not have an exact date but will let you guys know when we have more details.

4.  Can we get some thief love?
Funny you should ask...while we can't share exact details at this time we have some thoughts on the thief profession.  Keep an eye on UO.com and future newsletters for details.

5.  Will you ever allow us to have Castles and/or Keeps in Malas?
No we are not going to be opening this land to these styles of houses.

ACCOUNT RECOVERY VERIFICATION

For the billing support at support@ultimaonline.com to sufficiently verify ownership of an account you wish to recover, information that is currently set on the account has to be verified. Please note that account recovery requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

If a secret word is saved on the desired account(s), we will be happy to provide the secret word hint(s).

Accounts that have been closed within the last year require the secret word and 2 pieces of information.

Accounts that have been closed for more than a year require only the secret word, if a secret word is not set then 3 pieces of information are required.

Information used for verification are as follows:
  • Account name
  • Email
  • First and last name
  • Date of birth
  • Phone number
  • Key codes
  • Payment information (CC)
  • Date account was open/closed
  • State/country
ACCOUNT RECOVERY AND GENERAL ACCOUNT, BILLING OR TECHNICAL RELATED ISSUE
To recover an account, please email support@ultimaonline.com so that the Billing Support has a ticket in the system. Keep an eye out for the automated reply requesting account verification for the Billing Support Team to assist further.

PASSWORD ISSUES
To reset your password you must first understand which type of account you are resetting the password for.
EA Accounts, Mythic Master Accounts, and Mythic Product / Game Accounts all have separate individual passwords. All of which you can reset at our Account Center at https://accounts.eamythic.com/.

•  To reset your EA Account password:
       * Please visit https://signin.ea.com/p/web/resetPassword
       * At the EA page enter the email used to log into your EA Account to change its password.
       * If you have not received your password or have received an error while trying to reset the password and you have disabled all spam filters, please contact EA Support here.
 
TERMINATED ACCOUNTS
If you have an account that was terminated by CS over a year ago and would like to have it back, please contact the Dispute Team from the email associated with the account at dispute@ultimaonlince.com for further investigation and a possible one-time reprieve.
 
IN-GAME SUPPORT

EA ORIGIN - ORDERS, CODES, AND THIRD PARTY RESELLERS

Sovereigns Coin Codes purchased from EA Origin have to be redeemed on the Account Center; you cannot enter these in game.
Sovereign Coin Codes that have been redeemed are bound to the EA Account they were redeemed on and are only usable by the accounts linked with that EA Account; Sovereign Coin currency may not be transferred.

If you are having issues with your EA Origin purchase, follow this link to resolve the issue.

CODE PURCHASE DELAY
You may have noticed that Origin Store purchases made did not arrived as expected. The Origin Store enacts reviews on all transactions to safeguard against fraudulent purchases, and these reviews may take up to 72 hours. Unfortunately our Billing department is not able to expedite or circumvent this process. However, players who have questions or concerns regarding a store purchase can contact Origin Support for assistance using the below steps:
 
1)  Go here, https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/?product=origin&platform=pc
2)  Select topic* - select Orders
3)  Select issue*
4)  Click on "Select contact option"
5)  Sign in with your EA Account or click on "Get help from an advisor without logging in." if you're having trouble signing in.

THIRD PARTY RESELLERS
We would also like to reiterate that the Origin store is the only guaranteed provider of codes for Ultima Online. The validity of a code purchased from a third-party seller (be it a friend, in-game acquaintance, or recommended site) cannot be guaranteed. Furthermore, any codes we find to have be fraudulently obtained will be disabled and an account that applies any of these codes will have that code removed from said account. This can result in the loss of game time, character slots, expansion access, Sovereigns (and the items purchased with them), in-game items and more. Please be advised that we cannot assist with any issues stemming from codes purchased via non-Origin means; you will be required to contact the vendor from which you purchased the code for further assistance.
