The summer is still upon us, even though things are changing in the field. The weeds are going to seed no matter how tall they are. We try to tackle them, but it's a reminder that the plants truly know the days are getting shorter. Which they are. But, we still relish in the summer sun. Hot and humid, but rewarding. We take a little time to preserve food and tap deep into ourselves to get creative for dinner.

So, let's take a moment to reflect on our successes and failures. The problem crops this year were cucumbers, zucchini, and melons. Our successes have been cabbage, carrots, salad mix, and cherry tomatoes. Plus, kale all season. We had an incredible 14 week stretch of salad mix with a 3 week hiatus, but it's back again! We really had to take a break. And, we had cabbage for 8 weeks-that's a big deal! What a change from our previous years. These are really proud moments for our farm. The most note-able is our systems. We've really dialed in flipping our beds. Harvest, tarp, uncover, compost, plant.

We wouldn't be the farm we are right now if it weren't for having good help. Thanks Tyler! In addition, the BCS 2-wheel tractor has been a game changer. We won't go back to using a standard tractor and rototiller. We are forever changed!

Thanks for all your support in helping us grow vegetables. It is the true love of our labor!

We have two varieties of shallots: Camelot & Matador
Top Photo: Keeping the scallion harvest strong! Another noteable success
Bottom: Radishes on their way! The row cover keeps the flea beetles out which keeps the tops looking lovely and the plants strong
