If you are interested in seeking help, you can find the NHS class list and contact them for financial counseling at Counseling@nhslacounty.org or by telephone at (213) 381-2862.

NHS works to place families on the path to financial stability, teach important financial skills, and counsel underserved individuals towards their goals. By enhancing the financial knowledge and skills of families, NHS stabilizes diverse communities and helps families and individuals begin to work towards long-term financial prosperity.

The Financial Education and Counseling program consists of a series of classes, clinics, workshops and one-on-one counseling sessions specifically designed to provide families with the resources and tools required for them to become and remain informed homeowners. NHS Financial Education and Counseling provides information on the entire process of homeownership including:

  • Assessing Readiness to Buy

  • Understanding Credit
  • Obtaining a Mortgage Loan
  • Shopping for A Home
  • Protecting Your Investment

All sessions are offered in English and Spanish.
