WHAT WE TALKED ABOUT THIS WEEK

We've got a new way to connect with you!  Text "yamhill" to 844-922-1227 to be subscribed to our new Text Alert system.  This new tool will help us reach you when urgent action is needed -- we won't send general updates, so don't worry about your text messages getting clogged up.

Let's get together TODAY!!  If you're a resident in HD24 (McMinnville, Carlton, Yamhill, Lafayette), Lynnette Shaw's campaign is looking for a big crowd to be extras in an outdoor scene for her campaign video this afternoon.  Gather at 6pm at Soter Vineyards (10880 NE Mineral Springs Rd, Carlton).  Bring masks, blankets or chairs to sit on between takes.  Look for a dark wood sign that says ‘MSR’ in white letters in the curve on Mineral Springs, that’s where to turn in. From there, follow the gravel road up the hill and you’ll see signage to take you to the tasting room.  Thank you!

Candidate filings closed this week, and we should know soon who will be on the ballot in every city race.  For McMinnville and Newberg, however, the names are known:

McMinnville:
Mayor: Incumbant Scott Hill, challenger Heidi Parker
Ward 1: No Incumbant, challengers Lisa McCracken, Chris Chenoweth
Ward 2: Incumbant Kellie Menke, challenger Brittany Ruiz
Ward 3: Incumbant Adam Garvin, challenger Tynan Pierce
Parker, Chenoweth and Ruiz are running as a consolidated conservative ticket.

Newberg:
City Council District 1: Incumbent Elise Yarnell Hollamon, no challenger
District 3: Incumbent Denise Bacon, challenger Adam McGuffie
District 5: No incumbent, Challengers Nick Morace, Maryl Kunkel, Shy Summer Montoya, Mike McBride

Yamhill County Democrats opened a campaign office!  It will be open Mondays and Wednesdays, 4-8pm, and Saturdays 10-2pm.  They are looking for volunteers to help keep it open, can you sit in the office from 4-8 a night or two?  Sign up for their mailing list for more information as the election progresses.
