Hello, welcome to my latest newsletter. This edition includes: the latest investment to support Shropshire rural policing; an initiative I have funded to help West Mercia Police to tackle drug use in Bromsgrove pubs; my support for a Pathfinder initiative that helps save young lives on our roads; £1 million of funding secured for West Mercia communities and my continued commitment to supporting victims of domestic abuse.

My

It is simply unacceptable to see an increase in assaults on our emergency service workers at a time where, on a daily basis, they are risking their own health to protect us all through this deadly pandemic.

The impacts of these assaults on not only the individuals, but their families, friends and colleagues, must not be under-estimated. I will continue to play my part as Commissioner to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice and those affected are fully supported.

Pathfinder driving initiative saving young lives

Young drivers involved in a PCC-backed initiative are four times less likely to be involved in traffic collisions during their first year on the road, compared with the national average.
