Hello All,

Welcome to this weeks notices and prayer points.

Indoor, Outdoor and online Services

While the Sunday 10am online service remains our main service we are now offering small services indoors and outdoors.  In order to adhere to government guidelines numbers at the physical services will be limited and you will need to provide name and contact details for track and trace purposes.

The September physical services will be available via eventbrite soon.

You can book a place for the indoor services here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/114795430222
You can book a place for the outdoor services here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/115181117824

You don't need to print out your ticket or present it in a digital format.  Simply register on eventbrite so that we know you are coming.

If you are in contact with church folk who are not online please let them know about these services and offer to sign them up if they would like to attend.  We don't want anyone to miss out!

Please note there are no services on Thursday 27th August due to a private funeral taking place on Tuesday 25th which means we cannot open the building on Thursday due to the 72 hour Covid cleaning rules.

Join us on Sunday at 10am for our live-stream service.

Children and Youth

Our Sunday groups take a break over the summer and we’ll be thinking, planning and praying during that time about what church, and especially the children’s and youth groups, might be like in September.

I’d love to hear from children, young people and their families about what you have found helpful in the past few months and any ideas or suggestions that you might have for the future. You can contact me at childrenandyouth@andysonline.org

Sudan Appeal

Bishop Nick writes:
The coronavirus pandemic has caused massive disruption across the globe, including here in England. We need no reminder of the costs of this. Imagine, then, the impact on a country such as Sudan. Our brothers and sisters in our link dioceses there have no recourse to support for very basic needs other than external agencies. Their situation is more than challenging as the Church, under the leadership of Archbishop Ezekiel (with whom I speak frequently), seeks to feed the increasing number of poor, dispossessed and desperate people. The pandemic has led to rapid increase in unemployment and rampant inflation, pushing the purchase of even basic food beyond the reach of many people.
We have been linked with Sudan for around forty years. So, I am launching an emergency appeal right cross the Diocese of Leeds to support our brothers and sisters there. We are asking, on behalf of Archbishop Ezekiel, for funds for emergency food and supplies for those across the country who rely on the church for support or survival. The need is urgent and is increasing in severity.

Rhythm of Life

“As Christians, we believe Jesus should be at the heart of our rhythms of life, whatever our circumstances. This will have a far-reaching impact on our own wellbeing and the good of others – on our loving, living and learning.

I would like to invite you to join the diocesan ‘Rhythm of Life’ venture. This will involve individual commitments, accessing resources and mutual support. Some key areas will be given special attention: praying, encouraging, sharing, reflecting, celebrating, resting and creating.”

Tea and Blackberries
Bring and Buy

In previous years recently I have had a sale with proceeds
to Joy’s counselling course which is funded separately from
Y.F.C. I have a store of frozen blackberries and some cards for sale.
If weather permits, I could offer tea in the garden for small numbers,
or doorstep sale. I am thinking of Saturday 29th or Monday 31st, or if you just want to
collect, any arranged time.
If you are interested, let me know on 01423 562160.
This will be Joy’s final year to complete her degree.
Thanks,  Tina

This Weeks Prayer Points

U.S.A: Pray for the issues reflected in the Black Lives Matter movement and especially this week, for Jacob Blake whom the police shot and who is now paralysed. In the resulting riots 2 people have died and a lot of property has been destroyed. Pray for justice and peace to return. Also remember those who have lost loved ones and homes in the fires raging in California. Thousands have been evacuated. Pray also for the up-coming election in November. Remember those who have lost loved ones to Covid 19. Over 181,000  have died.

India/Bangladesh/Nepal: The virus is interfering with getting aid to flood victims. There have also been flash floods in Afghanistan, killing 100 people. Give thanks that in spite of the continuing spread of corona in Janaki’s state, she is seeing prayers answered. The leprosy patients have kept free from infection, and in the many churches in her network, some people have been healed from the sickness and others have been protected. Only a few have died. Continue prayer for Janaki, especially over the re-opening of her school.

Lebanon: Continue prayer for the Y.F.C. team and all who are seeking to rebuild and also share the good news of Jesus with those who need hope.

East Africa: Continue prayer regarding the locusts and those whose crops have been devastated.

Belarus: Pray for all who are fearful following the recent election. Pray for opposition leaders to be given wisdom, courage and protection.

South Africa: Give thanks for the soup kitchens and other practical help given to the poor in Knysna through Y.F.C. and for the outreach that the Nobbs and Y.W.A.M. staff are doing in Durban. Pray for their health, especially the Nobbs children.

Canaries: Pray for Jo and Paula that they will be able to travel soon and for their health and that their little church with grow and prosper.

International Y.F.C: Continue prayer for Martin as he and Sam plan and help preparations for the staff conference online mid-Sept. Give thanks for their support for our weekly online services and that Martin was able to live-stream Bernard Brewster’s funeral this week.

B.Y.F.C: Pray for Neil and the family and for the year out volunteers’ training which is from 6th-13th Sept. Give thanks for all the schools work done by Y.F.C. staff even during Lockdown and pray that the opportunities will continue.

Belgium: Pray for the Prices as they settle into their new home in Brussels and Adrian starts his new job, also for Nathan to settle well into his new nursery.

U.K: pray for all school pupils, teachers and other school staff as the new term starts, and continue prayer for the government.

Local: Pray for all who are mourning the loss of the Brewsters, Jacquie Anderson and Caroline Taylor’s dad. Remember those who are ill. Give thanks for those who have had successful surgery recently.
Continue to remember the Banga family.
