The new Amazon Halo has been released (well, pre-released!) and it is not at all what was expected. A really interesting experiment, it has not tried to follow the Apple Watch or Fitbit path. Instead, Amazon have released something much cheaper and very focused on gathering and monitoring health data.

Yes it is right to ask about how they will address concerns such as audience, market, and privacy of data. But, perhaps like all good experiments, the really interesting questions are:

What hypotheses are Amazon testing with this device? How quickly will they learn? And what will be their next pivot?

Thanks

Alan
