This bulletin is provided by CEnet to inform and support member dioceses.
In this edition, Women in ICT Leadership interview, CEnet wins a Culture Sustainability Award for the second time, and an update on the Catholic Learning Online Events series.
We hope you find the information of interest and we welcome your feedback and suggestions.
CEnet is fortunate to partner with a group of very skilled and dedicated ICT leaders in the Membership to deliver world class shared services to Catholic communities. This week we feature an interview with two of these ICT leaders in CEnet member dioceses.
CEnet's Chief Information Officer Vicki Anderson met with Klarissa Plimmer the Chief Information Officer of Catholic Education Archdiocese of Canberra & Goulburn and Astrid Goss the ICT Manager of the Tasmanian Catholic Education Office to discuss their roles, the experiences they bring to their dioceses and the opportunities for young people who might be considering careers in Information and Communication Technologies.
The discussion provides valuable insights to the role of ICT leadership in Catholic Education and is recommended reading for students aiming to pursue a future in ICT.
It was announced this week that CEnet has, for the second time in a row, received a Culture Sustainability Award.
CEnet recognizes the importance of a strong workplace culture and In 2015 undertook an organisational cultural assessment making use of Human Synergistics' Organisational Culture Inventory (OCI) - the world’s most widely used tool for measuring organisational culture.
The OCI takes a multi-faceted approach to assessing an organisation's culture with the results plotted on 3-zoned circumplex. The aim is to be operating in the 'blue' zone (constructive), as opposed to the green (passive) or red zones (aggressive).
CEnet has undertaken three OCI assessments. The results are shown in the circumplex diagrams below.
These results indicate that CEnet’s culture is in a very positive position with people feeling encouraged and supported to thrive, not just survive, in the organisation, whilst supporting others in their development, fostering a team-first approach.
When selecting recipients for the award, Human Synergistics reviews the results of culture surveys undertaken by companies around the world and uses these to identify the companies achieving at the highest level. When CEnet won its first award, it joined a very small group of companies that have built an outstanding workplace culture. To receive the award twice in a row is almost unheard of and is considered a testament to the staff of CEnet and the value we place on building a strong culture which informs the service provided to member dioceses.
