10th Amy’s Great Ocean Road Gran Fondo

Postponed to 24th October 2021 due to COVID-19

2020 sees us unable to start our ride in Lorne this year and experience the climbs, the views, and the atmosphere of Amy's Great Ocean Road Gran Fondo. 

Thank you to all our registered riders for your support and fundraising efforts so far, however, unfortunately, due to COVID-19 our 10 year anniversary event will be postponed to the 24th of October 2021.

When looking to ride Amy’s Great Ocean Road Gran Fondo, it is important to remember that the event began in 2011, in support of The Amy Gillett Foundation. The AGF was established in 2005 in memory of Amy Gillett, killed while cycling with the Australian Women's Cycling Team in Germany when a driver careered across the wrong side of the road and crashed into the riders. Since then, the AGF continues to work to make roads safe for cycling in Australia. At Amy's Gran Fondo we come together to remember Amy, raise awareness for cyclist safety, and fundraise for much-needed support in research, education and advocacy.

We look forward to seeing you at the 10th Amy’s Great Ocean Road Gran Fondo in 2021, where we can cycle safely on a closed-circuit boasting the best course in Australia.

Virtual Amy’s Great Ocean Road Gran Fondo 2020 

Audio Indoor Cycle Program & Event / Zwift Event 
$30 Registration - Funds going directly to the Amy Gillett Foundation

The 2020 Virtual Event will bring us together online via Audio Sessions over 8 weeks, culminating in your choice of either Event Journey Audio Session or Zwift Race. Although not a qualifier for the UCI World Gran Fondo Series, we see this as providing a different opportunity for cycling achievement in the COVID affected 2020.

3. Ride Amy's Gran Fondo - 1st of November 2020 (2 Options)
- Collective On Demand Audio Journey Event
(Available from this date for you use at any time)
- Zwift Amy's Gran Fondo RACE 9am AEST, 1st of November.

4. Fundraise
-  It’s been a long year with a lot less time spent with the people we care about. Create a fundraising team for Virtual Amy’s and stay connected to your riding buddies, wherever they are!
- Fundraising for Amy's Gran Fondo 2020 currently sits at $13,263 and our goal is to raise $75,000 for cyclist safety research, education and advocacy. Setting up your page is easy and will help you talk to the people you love about why you're passionate about cyclist safety.

Please note any transferred rider from 2020 to 2021, your registration moves onto next year's event. This Virtual event is a fundraising activity for the Amy Gillett Foundation and will be a purchase in order to raise much-needed funds for the foundation in lieu of the physical event occurring in 2020.

Fundraise for Safe Cycling

Nearly 40 cyclists are killed each year on our roads. 1 in 5 people injured on Australian roads is a cyclist. This isn’t good enough. Fundraise to support the AGF’s research, education and advocacy and join our mission for zero deaths of people riding bikes on our roads. This year is 15 years since Amy was killed. In that time, we’ve come together at 10 Amy’s Gran Fondo rides to celebrate cycling and fundraise for the Amy Gillett Foundation. We’ve had many wins but there’s still work to do. Now more than ever, we need your support to work towards our goal of zero bike rider deaths on our roads. Fundraise, donate and join our mission for safe cycling.
