Kia Manawaroa is the web page and pānui for whānau Māori, that brings together information from the Ministry of Education and other education agencies, to support iwi and Māori audiences to increase their knowledge and therefore be given the opportunity to be more actively involved in supporting the learning of their tamariki.

ALERT LEVEL 2 

Moving to Alert Level 2 will be a welcome relief for many of our Auckland whānau and tamariki but change can be hard.  Be kind to yourselves and others in the coming days and weeks, and remember - wash your hands, keep track of where you’ve been, and stay home if you’re feeling māuiui.

From Monday 31 August, face coverings or masks will be compulsory on public transport such as buses, trains, and commuter ferries.

SCHOLARSHIPS NOW OPEN
E wātea ana ngā karahipi TeachNZ
 
TeachNZ scholarships support people on their journey towards being a great teacher or kaiako, and can cover the cost of course fees and pay you an allowance throughout the duration of your study. 

Applications for the First Round of the 2021 TeachNZ Scholarship Programme are now open.

NGĀRIMU SCHOLARSHIPS 


The Ngārimu VC and 28th (Māori) Battalion Scholarship Fund Board have seven Scholarships for Māori tertiary students who possess qualities of the soldiers that served in the 28th Māori Battalion.
 
Applications close on Monday, 7 September.

NCEA - ONLINE SUPPORT AVAILABLE

This year has been especially difficult for our NCEA students. Due to the rāhui NCEA external exams have been delayed until 16 November and the submission date for portfolios has been extended to 12 November

We’ve also created an easy to use online learning tool called Classroom NZ2020 that is accessible whenever and wherever.

DISTANCE LEARNING SUPPORT 

Hard Packs
Although we’ll all be at Alert Level 2 soon, hang on to any hard packs you’ve received so far. They’re a great rainy day resource, and will be good to have on hand if there are any further changes to alert levels in the future.

REMINDERS
The 2020 Ngārimu video competition is closing on Monday 12 October 2020.
Open to students and ākonga in years 7-13, entries should be in the form of a 3 to 5 minutes video, and can be submitted by an individual, team, or kura.
