New meditation practice heads to Shrewsbury

A new service helping people deal with a range of health and wellbeing issues will be available to people in Shropshire from next month.

Franziska Maria Cecchetti-Pretsch is a trained social worker who practices Systemic Constellations. She has moved from Germany to be with her husband and will be adding her expertise to the services provided by the Centre of Integral Health group based in Shrewsbury.

Local Climate Group Launches to Achieve Net Zero by 2030

An exciting not-for-profit organisation launched today to ensure that Shropshire achieves net zero carbon by 2030.

Set-up to represent the communities, enterprises, councils and NGOs of Shropshire, Shropshire Climate Action Partnership (SCAP) covers the whole county of Shropshire, including the unitary authority areas of Shropshire Council and Telford & Wrekin Council.

Charity events for Hope House Hospice …

A charity golf day held last year was hailed such a success that north Shropshire company EvaStore, is staging a second event next month, adhering to current Covid-19 conditions and restrictions, and to be held at Oswestry Golf Club.

The document management company, based on Artillery Business Park in Oswestry, raised over £4,000 for two local charities last time and are looking to achieve a similar figure on Friday 18th September to raise funds for Hope House Children’s Hospice.

Ironbridge Gorge Museums win huge vote of support

Shropshire’s most important tourist attraction has been given a massive vote of support by visitors since reopening following the coronavirus lockdown.

More than 20,000 people have already flocked to the Ironbridge Gorge museums since they partially reopened at the start of July – and feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

Now the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust, which runs the museums, is urging families to book their own trip to the award-winning attractions to make sure they don’t miss out before the end of the school holidays.

2020 Virtual Dog Walk . Around-the-World Big Dog Walk makes pledge to raise thousands for dog charities

The organisers of the Big Dog Walk series are proud to announce the 2020 Virtual Dog Walk – the World Big Dog Walk Challenge, which will take place in September 2020 and aims to raise thousands of pounds for dog-related charities, whilst not compromising the safety of those involved. Wace Morgan head retires after 35 years

The managing director of a leading Shropshire law firm has stepped down after 35 years with the company.

Diana Packwood, who headed up Wace Morgan Solicitors, based in Shrewsbury, was a well-known figure in the county’s legal sector.

She joined Wace Morgan in 1985 and had been managing director for the last 13 years, building the firm up into one of Shropshire’s top legal names, with a staff team of around 100 people.
