As we move towards fall I have many updates for you. You can read through the whole email, or skip to the headers that interest you! Today we are talking Park Yoga, Class Library, Privates and our Forever Project donation. As always, please let me know if you have any requests, questions or concerns.
PARK YOGA UPDATE:
So it seems that everyone in Brooklyn had the same brilliant idea we did: gather at the Boathouse for community and movement. Have you seen the band there each night, the photoshoots, fishing and the many other mediation or yoga groups? It is amazing what humans do when faced with necessity: we make it happen! Because of all the quarantin-ing we have been doing and the seasons changing, everyone is getting outside and creating community however they can. WHICH I LOVE, by the way! But in order to have more space to move, we will be shifting our Park Yoga classes to a spot near the Lefrak Rink along the water. A place called the Esplanade check this map link to see exactly where: https://goo.gl/maps/GE3EdVKBAUybGATy5
The Outdoor Yoga schedule will continue:Mon., Wed., & Fri. at 6pm & Sun. at 9:30am.
Monday, Wednesday & Sunday at The Esplanade in Prospect Park and Friday at Mount Prospect Park. Please try and sign up in advance for these classes via email or by submitting your donation.
Bring your mat and your mask - we will be doing these classes as long as the weather permits!
~~~~~ YOGA CLASS LIBRARY UPDATE: I realize that not everyone has a set schedule these days, and that many of us are tumbling onto our mats at the end of child packed days or just at odd hours because - well - life is pretty uncertain. In addition to hosting live classes online, I have created a library of classes on my website that you can use from the comfort of your own home whenever your schedule allows you a moment. Use this link: https://www.lindenmovementlab.org/pre-recorded-classes to access 30min Abs & Ass classes and 1hr Vinyasa and Restorative Yoga.
~~~~~~ PRIVATES:
Yogis, I know it has been hard to hold onto your practice these days and even if you have been practicing throughout quarantine it is really easy to feel stuck or like you are only skimming the surface of what use to be a deep rich experience. If it is the case that you want to get back into your practice, but don't know where to begin or want to take your practice deeper - I am here for you!
I am offering private and semi-private classes on zoom, in the park, and maybe safely inside. For the month of September, Privates will be on a sliding scale of $140-$200 for a package of 3 sessions. Please email me and we can set up a free 30min consultation call to get you exactly what you need.
~~~~~~ DONATIONS:
Lastly, and most importantly, this week's donations are going to support the work of Grassroots Law Project. This impressive team is working to dismantle mass incarceration and stop police brutality. I will be donating $23 (as 10% of my donation-class based earnings from the last two weeks) and I encourage you to match this donation if you can.
From their website: "White supremacy, bigotry, greed, and corruption are no doubt at the center of police brutality and mass incarceration, but do not confuse the presence of these evils with simplicity. These systems are complex, deeply entrenched, and took hundreds of years and millions of laws and policies to create. Dismantling them, and replacing them with something imaginative and redemptive will be the work of our lives. But together, step by step, we can do this."
