Dear Junior Church families,
Welcome to the second instalment of “Teach us to Pray”– a video series all about learning to pray with the Book of Common Prayer . Click on the link above or visit our website to view.
The focus of this week’s video is the Lord’s Prayer, from its origins in the Gospels to why and how we recite this prayer that is at the centre of our Christian faith. It also includes a brief introduction about the parts of a prayer, which people of all ages may find useful. Special thanks to the guest stars in this week’s video!

Prayers for students and teachers

As discussions about the size and shape of our classrooms continue, we know that many families and children may be anxious about returning to school. Here are two prayers that have been said in our recent services.

Return to In-person worship
As you may have read, we will be returning to in-person worship on Sunday, September 27 at 9:30 a.m. This will be a short, said service of Holy Communion (sharing only the consecrated bread). Children are welcome to come up to be blessed during Communion (hands-free of course).
There will be no 10:30 a.m. service and unfortunately, at present, the Diocese of Toronto health and safety guidelines do not allow children under 10 years old to meet as a group. We will be looking at ways to support families with children and asking for your input in the coming weeks.
The online services will continue as our primary service. They will alternate between Morning Prayer and Holy Communion and include Children’s Talks, sermons, anthems, hymns and congregational readers.
If you have any questions about our return to worship or anything at all, please contact Rev’d Rob or Rev’d Alexandra.

Family readers needed
Thank you to families and students who have participated in our online services as lesson readers, saying prayers or even singing. Who can forget Jackson’s awesome “Aw come on!” and Zahra and Liesl’s beautiful duet?!
Sunday, September 13, will mark the return to including family recordings of the Lord’s Prayer, the Creed, the Confession and more in our online worship. All families are welcome to participate, even if you’ve already done it before. We’re looking for all new recordings.
If you’d like to record before the hustle and bustle of school starts, please contact Janice Douglas for instructions and the text.
