Starting Electric Motors After Storage
|
Electric motors can be considered the lifeblood of any equipment. It's vital to ensure that equipment is working at peak performance after it is left idle, even if just for a short period of time. To start, thoroughly clean and inspect the motor before starting. Next, check motor foundation bolts, condition of V belts and coupling bolts. If loose or damaged, tighten or replace as necessary. After starting the motor, check for evidence of any misalignment and load under actual operating temperatures and conditions. Members of the Breaux Petroleum sales team recently attended the 2020 Bill Clark Memorial Golf Tournament in Choudrant, Louisiana. The event, hosted annually by the Louisiana Motor Transport Association, serves as a way to raise funds for the association and its yearly efforts on behalf of the transport industry.
