General News 

Happy Wednesday members!
After a lovely weekend the weather has decided to be a little less kind to us (is it not reading the posters everywhere about that??!) but on the upside it's not as cold I suppose.
Despite all the bad news in the media we're pleased to say we're still happily and safely operating - our drinks are cold and the food is hot - so why not pop up for a drink or a meal? The heaters are on and we're warm and dry, plenty of sanitiser around so there should be no stopping you!
Our buffet is not available at Alert Level 2, but our a la carte meals are, including a delicious plated roast meal for just $15 - take a look further along in the restaurant section for what's on offer.
(Restaurant is open Thursday to Sunday, from 5:30pm).

If you visited last week then you would have seen a few posters up again just reminding you of what you can expect when you come - the main points are:
 - Please sign in when you arrive (if you've got the COVID tracer app on your cellphone then please scan that as you come in, but that's for your records - we still require you to sign our contact tracing register please).
 - You'll be seated at a table when you arrive and be assigned a wait person - this lovely person will bring you your food and drinks - so sit back and enjoy!
 - You may leave your table to head out to the smokers' area, to use the bathroom of course and to head up to the bar to pay just before you leave. 
 - Wash hands, sanitise, and as much as we love you all - please don't visit if you or anyone in your immediate bubble is ill. 



We recognise that the situation may change at a moment's notice. We'll do our best to update you as any information comes to hand, via this newsletter mailing list and/or on Facebook.

Membership Cards - we're busily printing these as we speak - it's a lengthier process to print and activate each card now that they have bar codes associated with your membership numbers, but we're getting there.
I'm printing them sequentially in order from lowest membership number to highest. Currently I'm up to #650 so if your membership number is #650 or lower, then your card is waiting patiently at the bar for you to pick up (as long as you've paid your subscription). If you've requested your card to be posted, then this will happen as I print your card. 
Check out the couple of posters around the Club - I'm updating those with what card number I'm up to.

Motorsports Car Sales Courtesy Van

Our van is still be operating at Alert Level 2 with the following conditions:
Please don't sit in the passenger seat beside the driver. 
We can have a maximum of 6 passengers in the van in any one trip - anyone you sit beside must be part of your immediate bubble.
Please use the hand sanitiser inside the van.
Please don't use the van / come to the Club if you're feeling unwell. 


Our van operates Thursday to Sunday from 3:00pm.
Please continue to give us plenty of notice if you can that you'd like a pick up on these days - give us a call on 3478301 during opening hours, go through to the bar and book your pick up time. To get home again, we make regular announcements throughout the night when the van is leaving shortly, so you just need to get yourself out into the foyer and hop on.
For new members who don't know about this - this is a free service but we would appreciate it if you could drop a donation in the box on the bar. Thank you!


 

Darts News

Feel like throwing something sharp? We know how you feel.
Why not do it safely?! Come along for our next Darts night on the 20th August- all welcome. 
 

Golf News

Our next round is on Sunday at 10:00am in Te Puke.
Please note that the van will not be operating. 
 

Quiz News

Next Quiz Night - Monday 14 September.
Come and join us next month and enjoy a meal beforehand - restaurant is open on Quiz night Mondays from 5:30pm - with extremely delicious and reasonably priced meals - all welcome to join the Quiz and / or to dine in the restaurant. 
 

Housie News

Our next night will be Tuesday 25th August - we'd love to see some new faces - come along and give it a go!
 

Club Restaurant Hours

Monday (on Quiz nights) 6pm to 8pm
Thursday, Friday and Saturday 5:30pm to 9:00pm
Sunday 5pm to 8:30pm

The restaurant is still open at Alert Level 2, however we are not serving the carvery. 
Our a la carte menus are available as usual to order from.

Specials - we're doing a special plated roast meal for $15.00 - roast meat with all the trimmings. 
Thursday night is roast beef - for the rest of the week please check the noticeboard in the restaurant. But really - whatever it is it will be delicious am I right?!

What's not on the menu this week? Just one thing isn't available - bangers and mash. We're out of bangers. Bangers all gone. No banger delivery this week. Not necessarily a sign of panic banger buying, so please don't worry. Loads of other choices though for you all - plenty of lamb shanks - I'd go for that! (Disclaimer - actually I'll eat anything that I haven't had to cook myself!)
