From the Director's Desk

Greetings! On Monday, NICHD announced that I had been selected as the new director of NCMRR after serving as the acting director for the last year. I am incredibly humbled and grateful for the opportunity to continue leading the exceptional group of staff toward fulfilling the mission of NCMRR. I look forward to working with you all in this new capacity. On to the news!

COVID-19 Updates

The staff at NCMRR continue to be deeply concerned for the health and safety of people involved in NIH research and about the effects on the biomedical enterprise in the areas affected by the HHS-declared public health emergency for COVID-19. As many states slowly reopen, please refer to NIH’s notice emphasizing the importance of the safety and welfare of human subject participants and research staff. I encourage you to visit the NIH coronavirus webpage. The slides (PPT, 2.1 MB) and FAQs (DOC, 31.3 KB) have recently been updated to reflect the expiration of some of the flexibilities enacted in March. As you prepare applications for the fall deadlines, please be aware of the guidance notice for applicants and reviewers regarding contingency plans for COVID-19 in applications. Program staff are available if you have specific questions about your research project. Also please note that many new funding opportunity announcements were published this month as part of the RADx Program. More details about each funding opportunity can be found below.
