Welcome to 3 Point Thursday! 

Each week I'll send you the three most compelling ideas, facts, studies and/or products related to nutrition, holistic health and wellness that I have to share.

 
  • New Moon in Leo brings action, bravery and confidence
This week, Tuesday 8/18 at 10:42 EST, our lunar cycle ushered in a new moon in the sign of Leo.
We've been in Leo season (which indicates that the sun has been in Leo) since July 22 and on August 22nd, move into Virgo season, but not before celebrating the sign of the Lion and this beautiful time with a brand new moon. 

New moons are always powerful, but can be amplified by other activity in the cosmos, like an eclipse, or by certain planets being in or around complementary or not-so-complementary signs and other points in space.
Currently, there is a lot of activity up there that's been with us and has now charged this new moon with a potion of properties that we are all feeling in some way, maybe with some emotion.. and can work with to guide, soothe and empower us.

I've also learned that this new moon in related to and finishes a cycle that began with that huge eclipse in the Summer of 2017 that went from Portland, OR all the way across the US to South Carolina. (Remember that?) 
So if you can think back to what might have begun in your life then, what's gone on since and how far you've come, it can give you some clues around what might be wrapping up for you and what's allowing space for a new project or endevour in your life.


This new energy can support us in taking inspired action to get closer to achieving any goal that we have. We, meaning everyone on this planet and the planet itself, are in a powerful time of transformation, manifestation and an increased ability to make stuff happen for ourselves.
And because Leo carries a firey, passionate, heart-based energy, "our hearts will be in" whatever we decide to move toward at this time. 


It is up to us what we create..
We are responsible for using the energy the Universe offers us to create peace, happiness and good in our worlds and the world at large. This energy is powerful and so when we're not mindful, it can become the fuel that pulls us into lower frequencies we do not benefit from.
Like all power, we must use it wisely and with intention.

 
  • How can we maximize this energy?
If there is something you've been putting off, knowing you'd like to do, have or make happen, no matter how big or small, go for it: get started, begin the first step, ask for it, be aware of guidance you're receiving around it, etc.

Leo energy is supportive around feeling our strength and confidence come through and taking action around achieving what we want in our lives, even if it's a process that will take some time and effort.
Now is a great time to start and see a little progress each day we put a little effort in.

Not coincidentally, as Virgo season gets going into September, we will be offered the energy that Virgo is known for: groundedness, practicality, organization and perseverance to sustain this fire that Leo has offered. 

If there is a habit you'd like spend less time with, maybe commit to taking intentional time away from that each day and putting in a little intentional time and effort toward want you'd like to grow instead.

This can be as simple as "I want to be sure eat a couple servings of vegetables and fruit every day" to "I want to be more compassionate in my communication" to "I want to sit and talk more with my son or daughter" or "spend time giving attention to/playing with my dog" to "I want to organize my closet" or "build that shed in the backyard" to "I want to start this new career or hobby".
It can be anything you want! That's what you're putting a little time an effort toward each day (just a little!) to get better and better at or closer and closer to.


This is how change happens. Also, changes that occur slowly and with some personal effort mean more and last longer.
