Sunday Service Information
The Meaning of Life

Rev. Mark Ward, Lead Minister,
Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Asheville

In the old cartoons, we find the meaning of life by climbing a distant mountain and asking a guru. Maybe we don't have to go quite so far.

A NOTE ON THE LIVESTREAM: Even though we try to avoid using copyrighted materials in our services, Facebook's algorithms sometimes mistakenly identify our content as a copyright infringement and disrupt our service. That happened last Sunday and may happen again. If our service is interrupted, wait a few minutes and then refresh your web browser. The new live video should show up.

Service Link
We will be broadcasting via Facebook Live. Click on the hyperlink any time after 10:40 AM Sunday and the live video should be available (it will have a red label in the corner). The service will not start until 11:00 AM but there will be announcements and music by Dionisio.  You do not have to have a Facebook account to access the link. The video will be saved and available for viewing at the same link shortly after the service is completed.

Community Caring
If you would like to submit a candle of Joy or Sorrow to be lit during the service, click herePlease Note: Submissions received after Noon on Saturday will not be shared until next week. .

Being UU at Home Session 7

This week's Being UU at Home Lesson:

Who Cares? Taking it Into the World

This week we will share ideas of how you can apply your Unitarian Universalist values in the world by engaging in social and environmental justice work. We will look at the difference between charity and social change and explore ideas for projects you can engage in with your household, including many things you can do from the safety of your own home while social distancing!

Visit http://GUUFRE.org/being-UU-at-home to find this week's lesson, which will become available on Sunday morning. In the meantime, you can access previous weeks' lessons and see image galleries of the chalices, 7 Principles creations, home altars, household covenants, and more that people have shared from previous lessons.

It's not too late to send in pictures of your personal chalices, 7 Principles creations, home altars, household covenants, stories about your family traditions, or pictures of your wisdom libraries! Please send pictures and stories to youthdirector@greenvilleuu.org so we can share them on our website.

Being UU at Home is a new program for everyone who wants to find ways to express their UU faith with family and partners in the context of daily life.  This series offers engaging suggestions, activities, thoughts, stories, and opportunities for individuals, families, or partners to make Unitarian Universalism a part of your daily life at home. Each week this summer, we will add a new lesson.

Please Note: This lesson was originally scheduled for last week but was postponed.
