Hi everyone. We've had a week of lovely sunshine, but Mother Nature is eager to remind us that winter is not quite over yet. It's looking like a raincoat might be necessary uniform in the nursery this weekend.

In this time of global uncertainty, at least one thing has not changed, and that is the unpredictable nature of Melbourne's weather! It won't dampen our spirits, with only 10 days of winter left, there's much to do in the garden!

We are open 10am to 4pm daily, so call us on 9822 3305 and we'll get you what you need.

When magnolias are in bloom it's hard to believe there could be a tree more beautiful. They have a sense of magical wonder to them, and their winter flowers truly lift your spirits.

Magnolias come in a large variety of shapes and sizes. Some - like the evergreen varieties Little Gem and Teddy Bear - are star performers in tough conditions. You'll often see them thriving in coastal gardens or in pots on exposed balconies, with their large and fragrant cream flowers.

There is a magnolia to suit every garden. We can help you choose the perfect one for your space, so give us a call and we can talk to you about your options.

It's always exciting when the first of the summer vegetables start to arrive. For us it signals the start of the active season and it means warmer days ahead!

We have some early zucchinis, tomatoes and chillis in stock now, with more to come soon. While the weather is still a bit cool for general planting of these vegetables, for those who can give them some night time protection from the cold, you can get a head start on your summer crops.

If you are considering setting up a veggie garden for the first time, we have some tips on how to start off.

New season geraniums are available now and are the epitome of a Melbourne Mediterranean style garden. Long flowering, drought tolerant and full sun loving, geraniums are a tough plant that will give you colour all through spring and summer. If you can't travel to the Mediterranean region, you can at least recreate that summer vibe at home! Available in 20cm pots.
Cool season annuals are still available and will continue to flower in your garden through spring, so if you are looking to fill a space with fast growing flowering plants, why not try some of these beauties. Available in 10cm pots and seedlings. We offer savings on purchases of 10 or more 10cm potted colour.
Before we can stop to smell the roses, we need to stop and feed them!

Now is the time to feed roses for beautiful, long lasting blooms in spring.  Apply Sudden Impact for Roses to promote maximum flowering.

A fortnightly foliar spray of a seaweed based liquid fertiliser will help make your rose more resistant to fungal diseases.

We have a range of new season roses in stock and we can also take orders if you're after a particular variety.
How to care for your roses
Now more than ever, giving a gift means so much to the people you love. Father's Day is coming up soon, and if you can't be with your dad, you can at least send him a treat to let him know he's special.

We can make up a special pack for your dad, no matter what his taste and deliver it safely to him this Father's Day. Here are some ideas to get you started.
  • Give your dad a selection of herbs or veggies that he can grow in his garden. Even better, buy a pot and some herbs and get the kids to plant it up themselves to make it extra special for grandpa!
  • Trees make a lovely gift for someone as an ongoing reminder of your special bond.
  • For the lawn loving dad, a hamper of lawn care products are the perfect way to get him outside in spring.
  • If your dad is an active gardener, we can supply a range of gardening tools such as secateurs, pruning tools, hedge trimmers, hoses, rakes and more.
We'll be posting more gift ideas for Father's Day on our social media pages, so keep up to date with what we have in stock by following us.
To place your order for click and collect or home delivery, call us on 9822 3305.
