Work with Two Mail Messages Side-by-Side on Your iPad!

A client of mine called me the the other day because she was frustrated about not being able to refer to one mail message while composing another when using the Mail app on her iPad.
I get it. That is totally frustrating...if you don't realize you CAN actually do that on your iPad. 😉
That's right...you can use the iPadOS Split Screen feature to simultaneously view two mail messages. <-- this is so cool!
You can imagine how surprised and happy she was when I told her it is possible to work on two mail messages side-by-side on her iPad.
So in this edition, I'm going to share with you how to use Split Screen to work with two mail messages side-by-side on your iPad.

Ok...let's get to work!
How to Work with Two Mail Messages Side-by-Side on Your iPad
First, make sure you are in the Mail app, and you are viewing your inbox.
Next, press, hold, and drag the first message to the right edge of your screen. When your screen begins to "split", let go.
Now the Mail app is in split screen view, and your first message is showing on the right side of your screen.
On the left side of the screen, you can either tap and open an existing message or tap the Compose Message button at the bottom off the screen.
For this example, I will choose to create a new message (but you could open an existing message and reply to it.)
Now on the left side of the split, I am composing a message. As I write the message, I can conveniently refer to the right side message.
Please know, you can copy and paste or drag and drop content from the right-side message to the active message on the left side.
How cool is that!
When finished, you can remove split screen by dragging the center bar pill-shaped grab handle all the way to the right edge of the screen and release.
The contents of the left side will now fill the screen.
