How I See It - Conversation with Edmon Chung and NetMission Ambassador Ananya Singh

Sustainable development has been a focus of international public policy since the Earth Summit in 1992. It identifies three core objectives for human development – economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability. Only by pursuing these together can the world achieve development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

In this post, DotAsia Organisation CEO, Edmon Chung, sits down with NetMission ambassador, Ananya Singh. Read the full conversation here.

Global Tiger Day 2020

#GlobalTigerDay was observed on July 29th. The idea behind International Tiger Day has always been to spread awareness, making more and more people understand why tigers are important and what is the threat to their survival. If you are interested in International Tiger Day, a first step is to educate yourself about factors like illegal wildlife trade, human wildlife conflict and habitat loss which impact tiger population. One way of doing that is watching documentaries available on the internet. To support the cause of saving the tigers, you could also adopt a big cat at World Wide Fund (WWF) for Nature and help the species thrive. You can share images, posters on your social media profiles to make other people aware of International Tiger Day. Several animal rights agencies also organise online and offline events and competitions around the day!!! @wwf_tigers

DotAsia Board Chair Remarks

It is an honour and a privilege to have been chosen by my DotAsia Board colleagues as the first officially elected Chair of the Board.

I very much appreciated working with Atsushi Endo for nearly 18 months on the development of DotAsia’s new Governance Framework and especially his leadership of Board meetings during that interim period. We wish him well in his new promotion in JPRS.

Among the new initiatives that have been taken up by the Board, has been the establishment of three Board subcommittees: Governance, Finance and Community Projects. Each subcommittee is responsible for drafting Board and organisational policies in collaboration with the staff and presenting them for discussion and subsequent endorsement by the full Board.

We aim to share any new developments with our DotAsia community, by getting feedback from our Advisory Council. We believe that we can achieve a lot within DotAsia by involving our organisational members in the formulation of foundation policies that will ensure the integrity of our organisation as well as the security and stability of the .Asia domain within the DNS.

I look forward to leading our Board and Organisation into its new future, to promote the service and features of our .Asia brand, in collaboration with our global network of Domain Registrars, as well as with our Asia Pacific organisational partners and cctld members, and I look forward to working with you all.
