West Hatch High School's GCSE students praised for their "diligence and dedication" as they celebrate results
 
Students at West Hatch High School, Chigwell, have been praised for their "diligence and dedication" as they celebrate their GCSE examination results.

The vast majority of the school's GCSE students are now enrolling into the school’s Sixth Form. 

Headteacher Daniel Leonard said: "Sitting exams is normally acstressful enough time for our students but losing the chance to prove what they can achieve has been even more so. 

"Thankfully they are now able to celebrate their hard work and plancfor their next two years of study."

Mr Leonard added: "This is a special year group who have workedcexceptionally hard in preparation for their GCSE examinations and I am disappointed they were unable to finish their courses in the normal manner. 

"However the results they have achieved are the culmination of their diligence and dedication and they should be very proud of themselves. We certainly are."

As a result of the processes by which students have been awarded grades this year the school is not releasing overall school figures.

Students who have really excelled this year are:

Charlotte Stevens - nine Grade 9s and one Grade 7
Dora Szabo - seven Grade 9s, two Grade 8s, one Grade 7
Charlotte Kent - seven Grade 9s, two Grade 8s, one Grade 6
Evie Aviram - five Grade 9s, four Grade 8s, one Grade 7
Josephine Middleton - four Grade 9s, five Grade 8s, one Grade 6
Henry Freeman - three Grade 9s, five Grade 8s, one Grade 7, one Grade 6 
Mustafa Sahin - four Grade 9s, three Grade 8s, three Grade 7s
Maryam Khan - two Grade 9s, five Grade 8s, two Grade 7s, one Grade 6
Katherine Taylor - three Grade 9s, three Grade 8s, three Grade 7s, one Grade 6
Shijing Yang - two Grade 9s, four Grade 8s, four Grade 7s, one Grade 6

Mr Leonard said: "Although we have highlighted our top attainers we are equally proud of those who have made the most progress in their studies. 

"We are all looking forward to returning to school in September and being able to celebrate the accomplishments of our students and watch them further grow and develop inside and outside of the classroom."

West Hatch High School's Sixth Form is well known for its excellent provision and results, extensive range of well-established A-Level and Vocational Courses, its work shadowing, Extended Project Qualification, Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and opportunities for students to trek and travel abroad. 

Mr Leonard said: "When our Sixth Formers leave, they take with them the confidence, skills and excellent results enabling them to compete with the best.

"The Sixth Form Centre is set in extensive grounds with superb facilities."

Details of courses open for recruitment and information regarding the school's Sixth Form open events for the next year’s intake will be available on Monday, September 7.
