There are many reasons why the donations at our church and most other churches slump this time of year. It is happening at LOCC. July was a bit off, and August is proving to be “more off” of our mark for our General Fund.
Giving is easy
Could you give a summertime gift to your church? There are multiple ways to give, including that “old school” process of writing a check and dropping it off at the church or sending it by mail:

But there are other easy options:
- transfer stock to our church account. For information on how to do that, contact LOCC Administrator Paul Erdmann at administrator@liveoakschurch.org or 352.901.0550;
- set up a regular deduction from your bank account (this is increasingly popular);
- go to the LOCC website and make a one-time or recurring donation out of your bank account or from a credit card.

Blessing the Rojas Family
|
|
Isaac and Cristin Rojas were "blown away" by the surprise housewarming shower of gift cards they received from the LOCC family during the 10:30 service this past Sunday.
Among the youngest member couples of Live Oaks Community Church, and THE youngest members of our staff, Isaac and Cristin (and their two beautiful daughters) closed on the purchase of their first home on August 13 and moved in this past Tuesday. They are much appreciated as an integral part of the ministry of LOCC, handling all the sound and video for our live, recorded, and streamed services – as well as many other behind-the-scenes tasks.
It's not too late to add your blessing!
Originally, the couple was to receive their gift during this coming Sunday's 10:30 service, but when their closing date got moved up, so too did the church's presentation. As a result, more gifts are still coming in. If you had planned to contribute, it's not too late! Here's what you can do:
Purchase a gift card, in whatever amount you wish to share, from one of the following: VISA (can be used anywhere), Publix, Walmart, Target, Bed-Bath-Beyond, Lowes, or Home Depot. Include a note of appreciation and encouragement and mail to:

On the back of the envelope please write ROJAS. That way when we get the mail, we can easily separate what is being directed to them. Please do NOT make out a check to LOCC for this! These gifts are going directly to Isaac and Cristin and not through the church books.

Grief Support Opportunities

- Special, one-day “Loss of Spouse” session:
9:30 a.m. - noon Tuesday, September 1
- 13-week Grief Share program begins 9:30 a.m. - noon Tuesday, September 8
- All sessions meet at the Woodridge Campus in the LOCC Treehouse. Social distancing guidelines will be followed – please wear a mask.

CONSTRUCTION ZONE

Four 38-foot steel columns are set in place to support the roof system of our ministry expansion at Woodridge. The underslab infrastructure is nearly completed, and excavation will begin soon for the sloped floor in the new Worship Center. Come on by and view the site from behind the half wall outside the church offices!
