Innovation One | Exact Sciences Headquarters Photo Gallery

University Research Park and Exact Sciences partner to create a new corporate headquarters for Exact Sciences

The building was developed and owned by University Research Park, and designed by Valerio Dewalt Train Architects. The building and interiors were constructed by J.H. Findorff & Sons, Inc. Exact Sciences has leased the entire facility and developed the interiors with Potter Lawson Architects.

Chancellor Blank: Summer update on Smart Restart plans

To our UW employees,
I hope you’ve managed to find ways to enjoy the nice weather and to take a break from your usual activities during this most unusual and difficult summer. It’s been more than a month since we launched our Smart Restart initiative, with plans to bring our students back to campus for hybrid instruction, beginning on Sept. 2.

During that time, neither the pandemic nor our institution have stood still. Today, I wanted to update you on our preparations and some recent developments that shape our planning.

FDA grants priority review for Stratatech tissue to treat burns

The Food and Drug Administration has granted priority review to an application for StrataGraft, a regenerative tissue developed by a Madison company as an alternative to skin grafts in treating burns.

Stratatech submitted its biologics license application to the FDA in June. The company, started in 2000, is based on research from the UW-Madison lab of pathologist Lynn Allen-Hoffmann.

Q&A: UW’s Jonathan Temte on status of a coronavirus vaccine and how it will be distributed

If anyone in Wisconsin was poised to play a part in the coronavirus pandemic, it was Jonathan Temte.

A physician and associate dean with the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Temte is also an expert in vaccine and immunization policy who sat on the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices for eight years and is currently a member of the ACIP COVID-19 Vaccine Work Group, a panel that will help inform the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention determine how a COVID-19 vaccine will be deployed..

Grad student helping organize PPE production, COVID response in developing countries

While her University of Wisconsin-Madison engineering classmates were landing jobs or applying to graduate school, Rebecca Alcock was preparing for a summer of volunteer work in a Guatemalan mountain town and trying to sort through her uncertainty about the future.

During those three months at the Engineers Without Borders office in Joyabaj in Guatemala’s Western Highlands in the summer of 2018—amid working on infrastructure projects and interacting with the local community and government—Alcock found the career inspiration she had been missing.
