 Reopening Upstairs
Fremont Boathouse
Effective Tuesday, August 25

We are making the upstairs available for limited use. All current personal protective requirements remain in effect.  It's important that you do not linger in the hallways or small spaces. We will be placing air filters in many areas to improve the air quality. Do not go upstairs or use the gym if sick, around anyone sick or feel compromised in any way. What is Open?

Lounge: Open for hanging out, drinking coffee, etc. Max Capacity = 5.

Locker Rooms: You may use the toilets and sinks. The locker or shower areas are closed. You may retrieve items from your locker but it is not a changing area at this time, unless you are the only person there. Don't linger in these closed spaces. Max capacity = 3

Gym and Deck:  By Appointment Only 4-11 AM. First Come, First Serve after 11 AM. Max Capacity = 6 Gym hours will change when Holy Names Academy returns to the boathouse this Fall.
We've created discrete "stations" for you to do your workout. Appointments are for one hour. There will be no rotation between stations, unless the stations are empty. Kettlebells, dumbbells, etc can be shared. There will be no monitor or cleaners on site. The responsibility to keep the equipment clean is on the user. Masks are required, except when you are at your station. For more information

  • Indoor Gym: Max capacity = 4 There are 3 Stations for heavy weight lifting with a rack and 1 station with no rack. All Stations are designed for you to work out on the mat. The racks are 17 or more feet apart.
  • Outdoor Deck: Max capacity = 2  For aerobic workouts on ergs and bikes. Remain 6 or more feet apart at all times

Winter Safety Recommendations
Its warm out! Perfect time to retake your flip test or "practice flipping" if you plan to row this winter. Sign up online for full flip test or contact flip test supervisors, KC Dietz and Hugh Lade to schedule a "practice" session, which does not include the skill tests. FYI: Flip Test Video

Equipment Donations
Looks like we may be rowing in singles for awhile. Help us defray the costs of new boats, ergs, oars and gym equipment. Make a Donation today.  Many of the Ergs and small weight lifting equipment will be on loan, with a deposit, starting 9/1.

Private Singles
We are reaching capacity at the Fremont Boathouse for private singles. If you are storing a boat and aren't rowing, then you have been put on a list of members who may be asked to move to a high rack. If you'd like to volunteer to move, you will save some money and help us find space for those who are rowing. Contact the Office  Thanks.
Fall Racing
The popular I Love Sushi race series, hosted by Pocock member, Peter Hirtle, starts up on Sunday, August 30. Additional races are scheduled throughout the Fall. The course usually starts at the South end of Lake Union near "I Love Sushi" restaurant and goes to Fox Point in Union Bay. The race course is subject to change due to weather. Singles only. You must register with Peter by Friday.
Fall Sculling Programs
We will continue to offer sculling classes this Fall. All current classes will run in September except John Robinson's Friday class. We are adding an additional "Almost Intermediate" class, with coach McKenna that starts this Friday morning. Some of the coaches are taking days off during September. Best to check the class schedule when you sign up for current schedule.  Register Here.
