Making the 6th District Great Again!

Dear Fellow Patriots

It is disgusting what the Democrats are trying to do to our Noble Commonwealth!  For those of you not aware, a few days ago, Governor Northam called a special session to get things through that he was not able to earlier this year.

Because of the murder of George Floyd earlier this year, Democrats have really gone off the rails.  Currently they are trying to push through a bill which would reduce the penalty for physically assaulting a police officer.  The current penalty is a mandatory 6 month stay in prison, but under the leftists plan, this would go from a felony to a misdemeanor.  This would only lead to more physical assaults on cops.

We can all agree that George Floyd's death was despicable, and I for one hope that the officers involved are severely punished, as do most law enforcement officers. But we need a professional police force in Virginia to ensure the safety of our citizens.  And to make law enforcement's job more unsafe than it already is - is just nuts.

Thanks to the leadership of our Republican caucus, and to Todd Gilbert (HD-15 Delegate and House GOP Leader), we have exposed the hypocrisy of the Democrats once again.  Democrats want to give themselves a $200 per diem travel bonus while the special session is going on.  Problem is this is a virtual session - meaning that most legislators are meeting from their homes or work offices.  Yet the Democrats want to give politicians full compensation.  Thanks to each Member of the GOP Caucus for refusing to take extra money from taxpayers who can least afford this now.

Another gem (HB 5049) would deny local law enforcement heavy armaments they may need in case of a terrorist attack.

Please take a few minutes to contact your Delegate or State Senator (especially if you live in Roanoke City and his name is Sam Rasoul) and tell them to not support this dangerous legislation.  For those of you who live in Roanoke City and want to talk to Delegate Rasoul (Democrat Roanoke City) his office can be reached at 804-698-1011. or you can email at

More to come - stay tuned.

I remain your servant
