OMB 2020 Compliance Supplement

The Federal Register August 18, 2020 notice announced the release of OBM's 2020 Compliance Supplement for uniform administrative requirements, cost principles, and audit requirements regulations. The 2020 Compliance Supplement replaces the 2019 Compliance Supplement and applies to fiscal year audits beginning after June 30, 2019. According to an OMB memo, the supplement continues implementation of the President’s Management Agenda, Cross Agency Priority (CAP), “Results-Oriented Accountability for Grants,” and includes guidance related to Coronavirus administrative relief. Comments are being accepted until October 10, 2020. Contact GrantsTeam@omb.eop.gov with questions.

HMS Sponsored Submission Deadline Policy

ORA will be enforcing the University deadline of five (5) business days prior to the sponsor due date for all sponsored submissions, effective September 1, 2020.  Please review the HMS Sponsored Submission Deadline Policy on the ORA website.

B2P Office Hours

Optional office hours are offered to help new Buy-to-Pay users troubleshoot pending transaction activity and address system related functionality. Hosted and facilitated by B2P project team members, Strategic Procurement, AP Support, HUIT and the implementation vendor. Upcoming dates: August 31 to September 11, 2020, Monday to Friday,10:00 to 11:00 AM, Monday to Thursday, 3:00 to 4:00 PM. Visit the B2P website for training resources.

Fellowship Proposals Due September 2, 2020

Proposals for Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships (Horizon 2020) are due to the funding organization on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, by 11:00 AM. Important University Deadline: All proposals must be submitted to the appropriate unit (ORA/OSP/SPA) by Wednesday, September 2, 2020, before 11:00 AM. REACH 101 Applications Due Monday, August 24, 2020

Research Excellence in Administration Certificate at Harvard (REACH) Program is an interactive certificate program designed for research administrators and personnel assisting in the management of sponsored funds. Foundations 101 provides a comprehensive understanding of administering sponsored research projects from proposal to closeout, and introduces resources for further development. Visit OSP's website

Harvard Research Data Security Policy

The online course provides researchers/administrators with an overview of processes/procedures related to managing research data in compliance with Harvard's Research Data Security Policy and other University policies. Focuses on human subjects and sensitive or confidential data, and data that is subject to contractual requirements. A short assessment is required to successfully complete the course. Questions? One IRB Review: How to Establish IRB Reliance Agreement

Multisite and collaborative research can be reviewed by a single IRB. In some instances, it’s a regulatory requirement. Learn when reliance is appropriate and when concurrent review is necessary.
