 Second Mile Giving
“Second-mile giving” refers to an extra offering toward a special cause. Our second mile giving for August goes to Petaluma Bounty. Petaluma Bounty’s mission is to create a thriving local food system with healthy food for everyone through collaboration, education and promoting self-reliance. Their vision is to grow a thriving local food system where consumers make informed decisions; farmers make a decent living while prioritizing ecological stewardship of the land; and all people – regardless of income – have access to healthy food. We push beyond the immediate demands of hunger relief toward community food security (and hunger prevention) with programming that expands our community’s capacity to feed each other today and into the future.
 Offering can be given through Tithe.Ly or mailed to the Church Office at 504 Baker St.

Meal Train for Roger Davis & Ginny Mason
Roger recently found out he has multiple myeloma cancer. He has finished radiation and has begun chemo, and has had to give up his position at home as executive chef and shopper. A homemade meal or restaurant take out or delivery would be extremely helpful over the next few months while they adjust to the demands of chemo and going back to work. Happy 64th Anniversary Len & Ruth!
On Sunday, August 16, Ruth and Len Svinth celebrated 64 years together as man and wife. They met while Len was in the U.S. Air Force, were separated while Len was in Germany for two years, were reunited when he was on leave, and married 8 days later. And the rest is history! The Lord has blessed them in many ways. They are very thankful for their many Elim friends.
 Sign up for Altar Flowers Again!
With Pr. Kathryn recording in the Sanctuary, you can sign up to provide altar flowers again! These can come from a garden, florist or grocery store. Flowers should be delivered in two vases/baskets to the office by 3:00 p.m. Wednesdays, which will be returned to you. Need vases? That can be arranged.
Interested in giving flowers in celebration, honor or memory of a loved one or event? Contact Erin with your preferred date. As of now, all dates are open.

The Interfaith Pantry at Elim does not need more paper bags at this time, but Hillside Church on the Eastside does. Donations can be dropped off at 2689 Old Adobe Road. Thank you.
In Memory of Mary Duerre, 1935 - 2020
Mary is laid to rest in Bismarck, North Dakota. She passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones. Her gentle kindness and generous heart touched everyone she met.
 Cleaners Needed During Custodian Search!
We could use some help with cleaning during our search for a new custodian. While there is limited access to the church building, the bathrooms and kitchen are used for the pantry on Thursdays. If you are able to help, please contact Erin in the office for scheduling. If anyone has an urge to clean other portions of the church, that would be welcome also. Thank you!

Feel like letting your creative side show? Want to learn how we make the online services every week? Our worship service producers could use some help, and would love to have some back up in case of illness. Help can include: finding photos/videos for the service, editing submitted videos, creating parts of the worship service, producing the whole service, and more! Interested? Please contact the Office. Help Needed for Interfaith Pantry!
Due to recent events, Elim is a few pantry volunteers down. If you, or someone you know, can help with the following needs, please contact Erin for more information. Thank you!
- Coordinator(s) who can be there most Thursdays from 4-6
- Drivers to pick up food from Santa Rosa on the 3rd Thursday
The Thursday food pantry is an essential service in our community, even more so during this crisis. We hope to keep it available to those in need of food.
Custodian Needed!
We are again in need of a custodian. If you know someone who might be interested please contact the church office or direct them to our Jobs Page. This part time position will provide janitorial services for common areas for the entire facility, with a particular emphasis on maintaining preschool areas in a clean and sanitary condition. Performing maintenance, such as changing light bulbs and restocking bathrooms, is also required, as is moving heavy tables.
 Give a Flock and Help Fight Cancer!
A few members of the Elim Lites Relay for Life team have resurrected the Flamingo Flocking and are giving you the opportunity to "flock" someone. It's simple. Fill out the form, get it to Brian Crosby, make your payment by cash or check made out to the American Cancer Society and it's done! You will make someone smile and support our efforts in providing services to cancer patients and working towards a CURE. This is a great way to say Happy Birthday, Happy Graduation, Thank You, Thinking of You....you come up with your own reason and they will see that the person/family is flocked!
