FEATURED PRESENTER, Dr. Alexander Garza, SSM Health Chief Community Health Officer and St. Louis Metropolitan Pandemic Task Force Incident Commander, discusses insights regarding our region’s COVID-19 pandemic response.

Dr. Garza joined SSM Health in September 2016 from St. Louis University (SLU) where he was an associate dean for public health practice and associate professor of epidemiology at SLU’s College for Public Health and Social Justice. He was additionally an associate professor in Emergency Medicine at the SLU School of Medicine.

Dr. Alexander Garza has been chosen to lead a national committee on the use of technology to combat future public health emergencies. He joins executives from some of the largest companies and organizations in the U.S. including Microsoft, CVS Health, Facebook and The Brookings Institution to review the use of technology during health crises and consider topics such as thermal maps, artificial intelligence and robotics.
