I hope you are all coping with the gradual changes due to Covid and enjoying a little more freedom and time with friends.
I have some good news to share with you, which is that I was successful in my attempt to win a place with the Lloyds Bank Social Entrepreneurs Trade Up Programme. This means I am one of twenty people who will now join the School for Social Entrepreneurs from October for a year to see how best to grow Happy Planet out of these difficult times. I am delighted, as it will give me a new focus and new challenges, but also new opportunities to meet and learn from like minded people. We will be starting the course online, via zoom, which doesn't fill me with joy, but I knew there was a strong possibility it would be this way and just hope that eventually I will be travelling to York to meet and study in person.
As I have some preparation work to do I will be closing the shop on Monday and Tuesday for the next four weeks from Monday 24th August, so I can have a study day and a day off.
Following a call out to artists and makers we have started to receive new stock and this will continue over the next few weeks. Fused glass figures have arrived and some truly stunning hand blown reed diffusers will be arriving shortly. I am still wading through the emails deciding on the other items to follow them.
For anyone who has been enjoying creating at home or maybe wants to try something new, I have a small stock of new craft kits, which includes wax wrap making, metal plant label embossing, a beading loom, as well as a comprehensive paper quilling kit. They are now available on the website and in the shop if you wish to take a look, priced at £9.99 - £12.99 which I think offers great value for money.
