From the Desk of Dr. Tucker

Dear Parents,

Our Back to School Parade went great! It was so good to see everyone. Thank you to Lacy McGough, PTF, teachers, and staff for your work to make this event successful!

We are taking care of last minute details to be ready for Monday. Remember you will drop your child(ren) off at your designated areas. Parents will not be allowed in the building. Hopefully, you got your cute ‘First of the Year’ pictures from yesterday. You will also receive pictures from your child’s teacher showing their first day in the classroom. Please do not post these on your private social media platforms unless it is of your child only.

We appreciate your continued prayers for The Lord to surround this building with a hedge of protection knowing that we do all we can for the health and safety of our community, but then God…. He is our Shield of Protection. This morning in our staff meeting we talked about all we were thankful for, giving Him praise for bringing just the right teachers and staff for this school year. Thank you, not only for your prayers, but also for grace as situations change daily.

Psalm 46:10: "Be still and know that I am God."

Upcoming Events

Classes Start on Monday!

Classes start for all students, with the exception of those on a Tuesday/Thursday schedule, on Monday, August 24th.

Preschool through Kindergarten classes will start at 8:00 AM and end at 11:30 AM for early pick up and 3:15 PM for afternoon pick up.

Elementary classes will start at 8:15 AM and end at 3:30 PM.

You should have received carpool information at the Welcome Back parade on Wednesday. If you did not receive yours, please call the office. If you have any questions, please contact the office.

The SCS Office will be open from 7:45 AM until 4:00 PM on all days that we are in school.

*Please monitor your family's health. Let us know if you come into contact with someone with Covid-19 or if you or your child(ren) have any symptoms. In either case DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD(REN) TO SCHOOL.

Labor Day Holiday

In observance of Labor Day, SCS will be closed on Monday, September 7th.

August and September menus are open!

If you participated in the hot lunch program last year, your login information should be the same. You will just need to go in and update your child's profile to reflect his/her new classroom teacher.

Uniforms

Our uniform vendor is Lands' End.

The Lands End Store at the Shops at Park Lane is now open! They are located near Whole Foods. Lands End does recommend that you call the store to make an appointment if you need help with fitting your child. Due to Covid - 19 they are limiting the number of customers in the store. Their number is 214-480-3700.

After School Care for 2020-2021
If your child(ren) will be staying for ASC, please note that they hours for ASC are 3:30-5:30. You must pick up your child by 5:30, or you will incur a late pick up fee of $10.00 for the first 5 minutes and $1/minute after that.

Please call the ASC phone number when you arrive to pick up your child. The ASC number is 214-315-5670.

Medication Forms
Does your child take medication that will need to be kept and administered at school?

Please click here to read the medication guidelines and to print a medication release form. We cannot keep a any medication at school without medication release form signed by a doctor.

Chapel

Each class will have a chapel time in their own rooms. Kindergarten through 6th grade students are required to wear a chapel uniform on Wednesdays.
