Firstly, I would like to start this newsletter by welcoming our new Club Administrator, Juanita Vaszilyko. We are excited to have Juanita on board and I know you will all welcome her to the Coastal family. Find out a little more about Juanita later in this newsletter.
It’s been another busy week at the club with all the teams still in full training as the season moves in to the home straight. Our 9 th and 10 th grade Academies are winding down and Stroudy did a grand job as usual with the Keepers Academy. This week we launched the new Pre 9 th grade Academy aimed at our Fun Footballers who want to play 9 th grade football next season.
It's congratulations to the WPL team who retained the Hawkey Shield with a 5-0 win over Universities, with 4 goals from Mel Cameron. Also a big congrats to the U15 Boys who won Division 1 with a 3-1 win over Cashmere Tech.
This weeks Senior Premier fixtures are big games. The MPL guys take on second placed Nomads at Linfield Park number 1 pitch kicking off at 3pm. The team are sitting in third spot just one point behind Nomads. The boys will be upbeat after a fine 4-0 victory over neighbors Western last week and will be hoping for another 3 points on Saturday to leapfrog their opponents in to second place.
The WPL season goes in to its last round. The Girls have already secured the title but will not be taking tomorrows game v Cashmere Tech lightly, 12:30 at Garrick Park. The 2 teams could meet again in the Reta Cup so statements still need to be made.
Good luck to all our teams this weekend
