Operation Christmas Child Packing Day / Sunday, October 25th

We are almost to packing day!  We will have tags for needed items through October 18. We will need items to be at the church by Saturday, October 24 at 3 pm.  Starting in October we will also have boxes for monetary donations to cover shipping costs. It costs $9.00 a shoebox for shipping.

On packing day (Oct 25) the youth will pack boxes during the 9 a.m. Sunday School hour and adults are welcome to join. K-3 kids will also pack during the 10 a.m. Children’s Church time. After the church service we will have a light meal followed by more packing until we run out of items. This is not just for kids! Come join us for the fun!

ACC is partnering with the City of Atlanta and is offering a "Trunk of Treat" event for community kids on Saturday night, October 31 from 5-7 p.m.  It will be located in the east (Third Street) parking lot.  Join us for some smiles, encouragement, treats, and Jesus' love for the kids in our community!

Please contact Chris Ashbaugh by EMAIL or 217-871-9280 if you would like to decorate your vehicle and join in on the fun!
Announcements
The Tuesday evening ladies Bible study will finish our study of "Anxious for Nothing" on October 6th.  We will not meet on October 13th.

On October 20th we will begin a new 7 week study of "Jonah, Navigating a Life Interrupted" by Priscilla Shirer.  We can't escape life's interruptions, but we can change our perspective on them.  Discover that what we see as interruptions may truly be God's divine invitation to a life so much bigger than we can imagine.

Please let Cindy Sears  or Karen Rawlins know if you would like to join us and we will make sure we have enough workbooks.

The ACC Prayer Center!

Have you seen our "ACC Prayer Center" website? You can submit prayer requests and praises so that the church family can lift up these needs to the Father.

Requests can go to 1) ACC leadership only, 2) ACC leadership and prayer team only, 3) or the request can be made public on the Prayer Center page. This page can also be accessed from the main page of the church's website.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.  Philippians 4:6 (NLT)

Check it out here...

Which Chair Are You?

If we could make disciples like Jesus did, would we? Jesus tells us that not only can we do what He modeled for us, He tells us we can  do even greater things: “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these…" (John 14:12).

While Jesus was fully God, He was also fully man. This is hard to grasp, but Jesus experienced every human emotion and never once used His authority in heaven to escape persecution, even to the point of death. Jesus leaned upon the very tools that are available to us: Prayer, the Word of God, and the Holy Spirit.

How do we grow in holiness and spiritual maturity? Consider the “four chair” example shown in the chart below as a path toward personal spiritual growth. In what chair do you find yourself? Most Christians fall into chair two. While they believe, they have not taken that step of becoming a “fisher of people." Moving into chair three is a big step. In our chair illustration, there is always a gap placed between chair two and chair three to illustrate the barriers that exist between the two chairs. Chair three is a call to action. A move from passive (chair two) to active (chair three). Is God calling you into the deeper devotion of chair three? If so, consider joining one of the many service opportunities available here at ACC. Everything from Sunday school teacher, small group leader, youth and children's ministry, etc. The staff and elders of ACC are here to encourage you in not only having faith, but also living out your faith.

We're excited to share that our church now has access to an extensive, new video library called RightNow Media! It’s like the "Netflix of Video Bible Studies" and has a HUGE library of faith-based videos that you can access whenever and wherever you want—on your phone, iPad, computer, or at home on your TV.

As a church leadership, we’re always looking for ways to help you develop and strengthen your faith. We believe that RightNow Media will be a tool to serve you as you live out your faith at home, at work and in your neighborhood. RightNow Media has videos for everyone—kids, youth, parents, married couples, college students, single adults, working professionals—all aimed at helping you grow.

There are two simple ways to get signed up... either by clicking the link below or by sending a code via text message.

Giving Changes Lives.

Giving is a way for us to put God first in our life as an act of worship.  God challenges his people to trust Him (Malachi 3:10-11) through giving.  When we give God our best we trust that He will bless the rest.

Wall-mounted drop boxes have been installed for weekly tithes, offerings, and prayer requests (one at each of the main entrances).  Online giving or give-by-mail remains an option.

Dear Atlanta Christian Church,

Thank you so much for the generous donation for school supplies.  We will put it to good use in this "normal" school year.  We are so blessed to have your church always support us, the school, and the students. How nice to know we can reach out and you are always there.
