September 2020 Newsletter

Hello and welcome from the 10th Board!

As the school year has now started we hope you have all been settling back in okay to your classes and study routine. This year is going to be quite different from others with its own new set of strangeness and challenges. At CS Ubuntu, the past 3 months have been busy with adapting to the new restictions. Rest assured we will do our best to organise as much activities and fun that we can . Despite everything we couldn’t be more excited to roll out what our board have in store!

Continue reading for a quick re-cap on what we've been up to so far and check out the upcoming events section. Unfortunately our very gezellig boardroom in Drift 21 is closed due to covid regulations but hopefully it can be open at some point this year for a nice chat and chococino.

For more frequent info and updates keep an eye on our  Instagram and Facebook.

Best wishes on behalf of the 10th Board,

Kayla Dwyer
President CS Ubuntu 2020 - 2021

CS Ubuntu presents:
Monthly Spotlight

While reflecting on the statement we made regarding the Black Lives Matter, movement, we felt that as a Conflict Studies and Human Rights association we had great potential to use our platform to shine a spotlight on various human rights and conflict-related issues. As a result, we came up with the idea to start a monthly spotlight.

Each month we’ll share information about a human rights or conflict-related issue, and in the spirit of going beyond just words, we’ll also share some resources such as petitions, articles, and other ways to take action. Our August spotlight discussed the current humanitarian crisis in Yemen and can be found on our Facebook and Instagram.

If you have any suggestions for our monthly spotlight, or any comments or questions, as always, we’d always love to hear from you! Send us an email or contact us through our social media!
