CSforOK Launches
Strategic Plan

A year ago TRSA received a national grant from CSforALL to participate in EcosystemsforCS, a program designed to develop and grow computer science, or CS, initiatives in our community.  With generous support from the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation, we convened a team of members consisting of K-12 education, higher education, government, non-profit, and philanthropic organizations to create CSforOK.

CSforOK is dedicated to providing equitable access to high-quality computer science learning experiences for all students in Oklahoma through collaboration, communication, and cultivation. Our vision is for all students in Oklahoma to be equipped with the computer science and computational thinking skills needed to become leaders and innovative problem solvers with the ability to access high impact careers. Research show that 67% of all new STEM jobs are in the area of computing and the CSforOK team has set three goals to help prepare Oklahoma students for these STEM jobs, including providing educator support through professional development and resources, developing community support and awareness of CS, and supporting school districts in the prioritization of K-12 CS.

Each of these goals has been developed with the belief that by supporting the systems that surround students, including teachers, schools, and communities, we will be able to significantly increase student engagement in age-appropriate computer science experiences with access to knowledgeable and enthusiastic support.

But for the Alliance...

We are stronger as an alliance. Each month, we take a look at the incredible things that would not be possible without a community of educators, industries, organizations, and philanthropies.

"But for our incredible STEM Alliance partners, TRSA would not have distributed more than 50,000 STEM IN A BAG kits across 35 distribution sites in concert with 13 school districts since the beginning of the COVID-19 global pandemic."
