Jerry Rockwell and Stephen Seifert Teach Basic Improvisation

Learn how to make up interesting and listenable music on the spot using your mountain dulcimer. It's kind of like a garden you tend in your imagination. From this garden you can bring variety to what you already play, write your own music, or simply noodle beautifully for relaxation and enjoyment. We want to keep things simple, practical, and fun. Our goal is to keep you playing and noodling as much as possible throughout the three days.

Learning tunes from sheet music can be really good for you, but we won't be doing that in this class. Learning by-ear can be incredibly rewarding, but we won't be doing that either. We're going to show you how to find and develop what's already inside of you. While this class is geared towards intermediate players, all are welcome. Meet with us for roughly 90 minutes an evening, for three evenings in a row. Here's the schedule:

September 15, 16, and 17 (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday)

CENTRAL TIME
6:00pm - 6:30pm Steve shares one to three ideas, demonstrates, and then helps everyone get it down.

7:15pm - 7:30pm Q&A
