WGC Emergency Response Network Request - $968 - Can You Help?
The Women’s Giving Circle of Howard County has received the following request to help with an immediate need in the community through our Emergency Response Network (ERN). Our partners at the Howard Community College Educational Foundation are requesting $968 to help a young woman in need.
A student at HCC currently has an outstanding bill of $968 for the fall 2020 semester. She is a single parent who is working on her prerequisites to get into the nursing program. She has maxed out her Pell Grant eligibility and had to retake several classes, which has now made her ineligible for federal funding support. Her GPA is 1.9 and the HCC Educational Foundation requirement for financial aid is 2.0, so she is ineligible for assistance. She is a mother of three living in poverty and has had “complicated life things” that have gotten in her way, and could use some assistance to continue with her education to become a nurse.
On behalf of our partners at the Howard Community College Educational Foundation we are asking for $968 to help this woman continue at HCC.
Can you help? You can give here.
Any amount is appreciated, thank you!
