ANNUAL GENERAL MEETINGS POSTPONED

Te Tii (Waitangi) B3 Trust and Nga Uri o Maikuku raua ko Huatakaroa 1891 Trust has today, as a result of the unpredictable spread of COVID-19, made the decision to postpone our AGM's to a later date this year which will be decided by our Board of Trustees.

While our attempts to pursue with an electronic/virtual hui were with the aim to provide all beneficiaries equal opportunity to participate in a manner that best supported their health and safety, given restrictions on public gatherings and social distancing requirements throughout Aotearoa, to do so would ultimately be in breach of our Trust Order 2015, in particular sections H.7.4 Quorum and H.7.6 Voting.

The difficult decision to postpone the AGM is a result of the opinion from our legal team which strongly recommends the delay to ensure full compliance with the Trust Order 2015.

Our Trust Board will be meeting next week to consider the appropriate measures by which our AGM can take place this year, with the view to meet kanohi ki te kanohi as our Quorum and Voting clauses demand. What this may look like, we are not yet certain. However, we can agree that whatever is decided will honour the rangatiratanga of our beneficiaries.
