Club News
Congratulations to PJ Murray who refereed the Senior Hurling Semi Final between Ballyboden & Na Fianna on Sunday afternoon in Parnell Park.  St Finians were also well represented with PJ’s son Jack, Damian Laird & John Walsh as 3 of the 4 umpires on the day.
Social Rounders Team

St. Finian's first social rounders team kicked off their very first session with Pat Barnaville (the GAA Rounders Coaching and Development Officer) in Rivervalley on Friday.

A great mix of 40 adults enjoyed a fun filled hour in two teams while Pat provided coaching through the rules and gave pointers on technique.

Looks like there is a bright future for rounders in St. Finians in the years ahead.

Go Finians!

Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others

Our G.F.M.&.O played O'Dwyers on Friday 4th September in Rivervalley. Both sides played brilliantly and congratulations to O'Dwyers who won by a point.

A great turn out by St. Finians with 20 players who all put in a brilliant performance and wore the club colours with pride.

A special mention to Claire Lynch who made her debut for the club.

Adult Camogie

Our adult camogie team concluded their championship campaign Thursday 10th of September.

After a tough defeat on Tuesday against a strong St Brigids side, they came out again and put in an outstanding performance against Setanta. Every girl on the team played their hearts out but after a dubious decision on a disallowed goal they went on to lose by just 2 points after a last minute Setanta goal.

The girls should be extremely proud of how they represented their team and also their club.

Adult LGFA Team
St. Finians/St. Margarets Adult Ladies LGFA Team played their Championship Semi Final on Wednesday 2nd of September.

In the end it wasn't meant to be but this fantastic team will no doubt be back stronger next year.
Adult Football Team

Congratulating to our junior football team on a one point win over Kilmacud Crokes in their championship semi final in a thrilling and brilliant game of football in Rivervalley on Sunday 13th September.

Congrats to all players and mentors on a superb performance to make it to the final in 2 weeks time.

Minor LGFA Team

Our St.Finians/Sylvesters minors team kicked off their Championship last Saturday night with a good win over a dogged OTooles/Parnells side and now prepare to face St.Vincents in their next match.

U16 LGFA Team
Our U16 girls faced off v Whitehall on Sunday 13th September with a place in the championship semi finals at stake. With a strong wind behind them Whitehall made the most of the advantage and led by 9pts at half time.  Finians used the wind as best they could  in the 2nd half to narrow the advantage to 3pts at one stage but it was a step too far and an excellent Whitehall team progress to the semifinals.

The girls gave all they could and now prepare for Castleknock next Sunday in the shield semi final so onwards and upwards
U15 LGFA/Camogie Team

Our u15 Lgfa/Camogie squad had another very busy weekend.

Saturday was a trip up the M1 to take on O Dwyers in a very one sided game St Finians ran out convincing winners. This sees the girls top the group and into a semi final.

Sunday seen the girls out for Camogie with St Kevin's the visitors, with a place in the final up for grabs. The girls led from start to finish with skill and utter determination seeing them home for a well deserved victory.

The management team are very proud of their efforts. Special mention to full forward Aoife Appleyard who bagged 10 goals in an unbelievable display.

Wishing the girls the best of in the respective Final and semi final.

U13 Girls Team

St Finians U13s had a busy weekend.

It started with the lgfa final round of the championship vs Beann Eadair in River Valley on Saturday. After 2 wins in the first two games a win here would see the players top the group and a home semi final. With players missing due to confirmations the team showed great resilience and performed brilliant. Final score 7-11 to 4-4.

On Sunday morning less than 18 hours on from the football match the u13s camogie team went to play Lucan B away. Still with a chance of getting a championship semi final the players needed a win and after a sluggish start they pushed on in the second half to win 4-2 to 1-0.

Well done to all the players. Fantastic weekend.

U12 Girls Team

Our under 12 camogie team played their first game since the season resumed v Commercials on Saturday September 5th in Ridgewood.

In a very entertaining and hard fought game, the girls put in a fabulous performance.

All players showed great skills and work rate. A huge congrats to all girls who played.

U11 Girls Team
Our under 11 Girls team put in a solid performance against St. Sylvester's in Malahide on Sunday in blazing hot sunshine. All  the girls played fantastic football with some wonderful passing and team work.
U10 Girls Team

On Thursday evening one of our U10 girls Julianne, had her last training session with the team as her family are moving out of the area.

Even though Julianne returned her sponsored St. Finian's windcheater & jersey, she was given a typical St. Finian's send-off being presented with a Dublin windcheater and a team photo by her team mates and finished training with some delicious cake.

As Julianne was with the group since Nursery, she will be sorely missed by the team. Best of luck in your new endeavours Julianne!

U8 Girls Team

Our Under 8 girls had an outstanding morning on Sunday playing Camogie in Erin's Isle.

They showed great determination and team work against the home team in tight games.

Congratulations and well done to all the girls.

U16 Camogie Team

St Finians U16 camogie team were eventually presented with their U15 Div 3 Championship winners medals at training on Wednesday evening.

A belated congratulations girls!

U14 Football Team

Our Thomas Ashe u14s played the second match of their Féile competition on Saturday afternoon in St Margarets against St Sylvesters B.

Thomas Ashe hit the ground running and took a commanding lead early in the game. Despite an injury to Ben in the half back line, who was man of the match up to that point, the team continued to battle hard and had a comprehensive lead at half time.

Sylvesters started the second half strongly but Thomas Ashe continued to keep the score board ticking over. Thomas Ashe emptied the bench in the second half and the fresh legs ensured the lads won with a scoreline of 2-22 to 1-2.

U13 Football Team

Our Thomas Ashe 1st team beat Craobh Chiaran this evening to go 2 points clear at the top of the Division 3 league table with 2 games remaining. Final score 11.14 to 0.1.

Lads will welcome Fingallians to the valley in a couple of weeks time in a potential league decider.

Thomas Ashe B Team beat Clanna Gael Fontenoy B by two points on Saturday.

U12 Football Team

The under 12 boys were back to football action today v Kilmacud Crokes for their 3rd grading match of the season at home in Ridgewood.

Players and coaches were all happy to show off our new training tops kindly sponsored by Johnny Walsh Heating & Plumbing.

The visitors had the stronger start and led by 4 points at the break. A much improved performance from the lads in the 2nd half saw us fight back with some early scores and a close match that either team could have won ended in a 2- 4 to 1-7 draw.

U11 Boys Team

Our U11 Boys welcomed Craomh Chairain to the valley on Saturday morning.

Two excellent games of hurling were played, both very close. Great heart down by both teams in a tough contest. Some excellent hooking and blocking by the home team and some super scores throughout.

Well done lads!

U9 Boys Team

Our under 9 boys had a great game away to Man O'War GAA club yesterday.

Some pics of the guys relaxing before the match. Well done lads.

U8 BoysTeam

Our U8 boys had a great morning of games away to Raheny this morning. They played both hurling and football.

The lads played brilliantly and also had great fun.
Well done lads!
