We’re really pleased to be working in partnership with 4theRegion and their members in progressing sustainable management of natural resources in SW Wales. In April this year, we published our South West Wales Area Statement.
This identifies the key risks, opportunities and priorities that we all need to address to build the resilience of our ecosystems, which underpin our future social and economic prosperity. This has been a different way of working - a journey of integration, evidence gathering, local engagement and collaboration. The journey has been the key aspect of this work, working with partners to acknowledge our shared value in the natural environment and in doing so create a shared vision for how our natural resources can be managed to deliver more for local communities, the economy and the environment.
We have seen some challenging times since the publication of the Area Statement, but we’re looking forward to engaging with partners old and new as part of our Green recovery and tackling the nature and climate emergencies. Collaboration will continue to be key to delivering our shared vision of the future for the region, bringing the environment to the heart of decision making, and we’re really excited to be working with the 4theRegion community to achieve this.
