It has been a pleasure to welcome all our children back to school this week and a special welcome to all our new children and families.
Last term many of our Junior children were very busy contributing to a beautiful piece of art work involving clay painted fish. Mrs Kennedy finished the project over the Summer holiday and we will display it with pride in our school. It is a reminder to us all that although we may look different and hold different thoughts, opinions and ideas; we all swim together in school. We want our school to be a happy, safe place for all to learn. Everyone is important at Grantham Prep. School.
The children have quickly adapted to new classroom routines and we will enjoy our first whole school Zoom assembly on Monday morning. Our school has been full of smiles and laughter this week, inside and out; which helps us all feel positive. Well done to everyone, staff pupils and families for adapting so quickly to our routines.
Enjoy the weekend.

A lovely time was had by all those who attended this year's Summer Holiday Camp. This year we learnt about some of the world's famous Inventors and Explorers, such as Christopher Columbus, Amelia Earhart, Galileo Galilei, Graham Bell, Thomas Edison and Joseph Swan to name but a few. The camp ended with an afternoon of fun party games.
In Reception this week all the children, including the new starters, have settled in beautifully. It has been really great to see them all back with their lovely big smiles.
Class One have returned to school full of enthusiasm and fun. The children are settling in beautifully to the new routines and activities. This week, in Numeracy, the children were given the challenge of filling a grid with a hundred pegs by using only odd number tiles. To make it more tricky, only five "one tiles" could be used. Well, there was some excellent team work and mathematical problem solving. It was a fast and furious scramble to be first but just out in front and victorious were Daniel, Ella and Niha. Well done to everyone! A great start to the term.

A very warm welcome from Mr Mytton and the rest of Class Two! They have all said how happy they are to return to school and a normal routine: goodness we have missed our friends! It is an absolute pleasure to welcome all the children in the school back. I have been particularly impressed with how quickly they have begun to adapt into being the Big Fish in the little Infant Pond.
Stay tuned for many exciting pictures and information about the incredible experience the children have in Class Two!
Hello, I'm Mrs Jackson, the new class 4 teacher and art teacher. I'm really looking forward to working with you all, and feel very lucky to have such a great class. My hobbies are dog walking (my lovely fox-red Labrador called Marlow), playing tennis for Grantham tennis club, cooking and gardening. I also love ART!
I am very happy to announce that from September, Offstage Drama will be resuming their Saturday drama workshops.
There will be two sessions:
9.30 am - 10.30 am - Children aged 4-11
10.30 am - 11.30 am - Secondary aged children
We will ensure that children are spaced out, the hall is well-ventilated and that good hand hygiene is adhered to. We already have contact details for all of the families, so that if there were any concerns, this could be shared quickly. This is subject, of course, to any further updates from the Government nearer the time.
I would like to offer any current children in Year 6, whether or not they already attend the sessions, the chance to join the 10.30am workshop.
