This Year, Storybook Ball is Coming Virtual
Straight to Your Living Room!
Join us from your home, friends home, or anywhere with access to Facebook for a virtual event complete with a silent auction, raffle, and meaningful messages from Cheri Fuller, Brittany Hunt-Jassey, Francie Ekwerekwu, and Kristen Suarez, one of our OK Messages parents.
Our Keynote Speaker
Our keynote speaker for the evening will be Frances Ekwerekwu. "Francie" is an attorney and devoted advocate for children of incarcerated parents. She serves as a program director for the OK County Pretrial Jail Release Initiative for The Education and Employment Ministry (TEEM). Francie is also a former OU volleyball scholarship athlete and uses her talent as a coach for the OKC Police Athletic League. Her knowledge is expansive and her compassion is boundless, hearing her speak is an honor!
The Auction and Raffle Are Available to Anyone Online!
Watch social media for silent auction items, and raffle information. A link will be provided a week out so that you can start bidding.

Please, right now, go to the OK Messages Facebook page. Find the Storybook Living Room Ball event. Say that you are "interested" or "going."
Now click "invite" and choose all the friends you would like to share the event with. Keep in mind, they don't have to be local. OK Messages helps kids and parents all over Oklahoma.

Be a Host Home!
Consider hosting an in-person watch party! To socially distance, and only have a small number of people gathered, we are asking people to host about 8-10 friends or family that they are comfortable being around to watch the virtual event. You can do this by inviting people to your home, back yard, church, restaurant, or anywhere that has a room with a television or computer screen and wi-fi fast enough to view the virtual event on Facebook.
To host an in-person watch party:
1. Make a guest list.
2. Invite your guests by phone, email, text, Facebook, or all of the above. If someone you invite doesn't feel comfortable watching in-person, be sure to pass on the link to watch at home.
3. Plan for dinner or snacks, drinks, and fun. This is up to you! You're the host. Make the event your own!
4. If you sign up as a host, we will provide two bottles of wine and materials for your guests about the OK Messages mission. Please let us know your plans in advance so we can make delivery arrangements.
5. Your job is to provide a comfortable place for guests to watch the virtual event, participate in the silent auction, raffle, and offer them the information to be able to donate. You won't be expected to ask your guests to donate, only provide them a location to hear the mission.

Due to COVID-19 OK Messages Project is not able to host an in-person event, and so the children we serve need you more than ever! Join us on September 18 at 7:00 pm on Facebook. Anyone can watch from anywhere, help us spread the word to everyone in Oklahoma!
